Tony from PES TUNING shared those pics with me when I ordered my milltek non-res midpipes from him. I believe itā€™s a supercharger for the V10 they make/sell?

OMG tony at PES is still aliveā€¦ PES isnt even a busniess anymore really. That dude ran off with tons of peoples money annd that car in the picture is just one more in the list of PES is shit and DONT EVER buy anything they make.

They fucked up that S8 car and fucked that dude over. you only saw a picture because the car only ran for a short time till they blew it up just like the other 15 cars they took money from people for and blew them up or ran off with the money to never give customers anyting. PES is PURE SHITā€¦but they will or tony will lie like hell to get your moneyā€¦ here are just a few PES classics honestly I can post PES horror stories all day long there is that many

Several people who got ripped off by PES went to the adress listed. Now you will see they dont list an adress on there web site if its still up and thats because they dont have one. this was the building for PES as listed on there web site

Here is the latest PES Rand D car where they fucked this guy over and blew up his car. Worst part was just like all of the other PES supercharger kits in the past. The car was slow as hell.
http://audirevolution.net/forum/index.php?topic=2772.0

Several people have had PES take there money and Poof PES vanishes. PES is notorious for taking deposits on parts that not only dont exsist they havent even been made YET.

Just more bad press for PES

http://audirevolution.net/forum/index.php?topic=2504.0

This is what we see about 90% of the time. People get suckered into PES and then sell the car right after they get the kit.

This is just a few quick links I found in like 10 seconds of looking. Doing a long search for PES will all tell you the same thing that the car in the picture tells. PES took that guys money told him they had a supercharger when they only had a crude cad drawing only to use the dudes car for R and D with a kit that fucked up dudes car. But you never get the full story till these guys sell the car because if they talk bad while there car is messed up PES wont help them. Now that PES can afford to fix the cars they mess up but in the end EVERY PES kit has sucked for performance.

Not saying anyone wants a supercharger for there V10 but if you do contact JHM they have a V10 kit in the testing phases from what I understand.

^^ Good god what a shitshow.

Think about this. Thats not even the worst of it. There has been a long trail of PES blowing up customers cars then just plain useing customers cars as research only to leave them high and dry. The pages of fake dyno sheets they got caught on and lots of other issues have been deleted from some forums. PES would sign advertisement contracts with some forums just so the fourms would delete content. Only to then quit paying after the content had been removed and deletedā€¦ I know this because I was a moderator on one of the forums. Tons of the real bad stuff as I said has been deleted.

Thatā€™s amazing that heā€™s apparently still doing businessā€¦ From what I can see under the covers, itā€™s pretty impressive packaging though. I doubt Iā€™m a target consumer for a kit like this anyway; Iā€™d love the sound, enjoy the performance and completely laugh at the $15,000 cost to realistically get something like this. Iā€™m sure if the JHM kit was finished today, itā€™d also cost the better part of $10,000, no?

JHMā€™s kit will probably be $7-9k like their other kits. But time will tellā€¦ fingers crossedā€¦

So I didnā€™t want to start a new thread, at the risk of drawing ire for yet another ā€œis this car good to buyā€ thread.

found an 07 with 90.5k miles. lot of work done recently - new HPFP, fuel injectors, carbon clean. outstanding items are a lean mixture CEL code (mechanic says O2 sensorā€¦trying to find if itā€™s a lift fix or an engine pull fix) and a leaky valve cover gasket. Owner was asking 11.5k. Good deal?

Iā€™m a little wary of a lean fuel mixture, only because my brother had that issue (likely one injector wasnā€™t properly flow-matched) and it resulted in a dropped valve which ruined his engine. And if that happens on this engineā€¦it results in a very nice lawn ornament and a search for a new car ;D

I would totally start a new thread. This is a more laid back website where you wonā€™t hear anyone telling you to go search because they donā€™t want to help or the information has aleready been posted. Wellā€¦ in some cases it might be helpful on somethings butā€¦

I would say I donā€™t think its an 02 because you will actually get an 02 code. If you have the actual codes that will be very helpful. If you get the codes just start a new thread. New threads like getting a new car or looking for a new car can be helpful for others to see that might just read the site more then post on the site. If you get the codes start a new thread post them and we can all help tell you more on what you might be looking at.

agreed

I got lean codes in mine, it was easily solved with some new vaccuum hoses.

11.5 is a great deal, I got my S6 2.5 years ago (same model year, same miles) for almost 20k. And that was a pretty good deal at the time.

Sad to see my car is depreciating faster than I can pay it off :-\

I still think itā€™s plateauing especially the lower mileage and later builds. as they get cheaper and cheaper you will have two camps of people that buy: ones who can afford to buy but not maintain or can afford to buy but donā€™t understand what maint to do.

The cars will either get nice treatment or be abused with crap maint and then possibly be wrecked. Then the cleaner and better maintained/lightly modded ones will possibly maintain their value.

All speculation tho

Hello to every one a salute from Denmark, new member and owner of a S6 5.2 2007 and itā€™s all Ready in The shop, lower manifold actuator broken

Special thanks to v8a6 for all the information and immagine of youre car, iā€™ve been following this block for a long time, all of you guys are really helping all of us, iā€™m from denmark and here nobody can help u, other then all of you guys.
(Sorry for my spelling, but iā€™ll give it my Best)

Thanks Chris! And welcome to the forum!

Somehow Europe doesnā€™t know anything about this car but the American do  Thatā€™s why Iā€™m here and asking, maybe dumb stuff, but Iā€™m not ashamed.

Thanks for all the help!

Nothing is dumb we are all here to help. The only bad question was the one you didnā€™t ask.

New-ish S6 4F5 Avant 2007 owner from Finland chiming in on this awesome topic. Sorry for the long post, but I want to be informative (and rant alot).

Got a high-mileage one, 337000km+ on the odo. People keep warning me about it being a huge timebomb! %(

Still, thinking the engine should have gone south, years ago, with itā€™s 40000km, yes, you read right, 40000km long-life service. Hopefully giving it the TLC it needs now, I intend to keep it running and improve on it if possible.

I have poor documentation of service after 225000km, and up to that, no atm oilswap and a 40000km LL service plan. WTF?? Original owner and Audi dealer?? WTF? But despite the fact, it seems to be okay. Apparently has MTM V-max done (top speed limiter removed). Otherwise quite stock. Engine and trans pulls like it should.

Anyhow, the guy who imported this thing, apparently ran a 13.550sec 1/4mile on this almost stock familywagon

Quite quick, but, I am heavily contemplating on schrik high lift/long duration cams and head porting, in addition to swapping the smooth economic quiet humane intake for the straight non neutered RS6 one, while modifying the intake, to allow for more cold air and less heat soak. Exhaust will be either a custom 3 inch cat-back with 3 inch ā€œsportā€ resonators and mufflers, or the same with magnaflow or rs6 rear silencers.

Apparently the previous owner had issues with the car, and after the dealer serviced the car to an amount of around 10k eur, he still dumped the car to the dealerā€¦ so I got a bargain, because they just needed to get rid of their un-sellable shop queen.

I had an issue with the intake, flaps were stuck open. Apparently they cleaned the intakes but one ā€œE-clipā€ was missing on one of the actuator shafts, so it was dangling loose. The brakes were shot. As first aid I got front discs and caliper slide pins and bushes from Audi, 926eur. Pads wouldā€™ve been 408eur, got cheap aftermarket phaeton/s8 pads instead, for now, 69e. Will look for cost effective aftermarket solution in the summer when I replace rear discs and pads.

Biggest problem Iā€™m having, is the front coolant return pipe is leaking. It has rusted next to the welded joint. Ordered new pipe and the 3 or 4 adjacent coolant hoses, for about 250e. Hoping the culprit has been rocks and saltwater, and the rear pipes/hoses are still ok. Otherwise itā€™s prolly engine out. At the same time was going to replace thermostat and waterpump propeller. But the assembled oem pump/thermostat package cost 404e so I ordered the whole shebang.

I hope the maintenance will slowly go back to ā€œnormalā€ level on mine, and I can concentrate on enjoying this masterpiece of car Iā€™ve got my nails on

Edit: more ā€˜old-carā€™/ā€˜poor mfgā€™ problems
Forgot to mention my adaptive cruise control is working-not working-working and one front parking sensor is broken, one rear sensor wire has oxidized and broken off the connectorā€¦ The ACC seems to have some sort of wiring issue, related to the leaking/spraying coolant overflow pipe and very sharp edges of the front bumper crash member (wiring is chafing on it and the coolant shorts everything).

Cheers!
Kristjan

Just my opinion, but thatā€™s probably because the S6 was kindaā€™ ā€œlameā€ in Europe, we had the RS6, so people who wanted refinement, went for S8, and ones who wanted sport-sedan/wagon took the RS6, leaving the short stick to the S6. Because the C6 RS6 was not imported to N-A, S6/S8 were the only contenders there. Thus more widely sold and known. Still, I like the understated looks and N/A sound and feel of the C6 S6 over the bi-turbo C6 RS6ā€¦ although when built correctly that car can be insanely ā€¦ insane:
