More for your viewing pleasure
Last set for now!
She is starting to come along and I am excited to work on a clean car
who is GB?
where is that shop?
also, this may sound strange, but I like the lighter yellow. it’s less buttercup which is what Imola makes me think of…and more…corn.
Get an E85 tune and get CORNCOB as your plate. That’d be cool.
Imola avants on B5 RS4 wheels look fucking awesome.
That is our toybarn GB is George Moyer Black the IV he is one of my best friends, he stood up in my wedding! His family is old Detroit, he is part of the Packard Motorcar Family!!! Anyway he was helping me out spent 3 or more hours degreasing and steam cleaning the bottom side of the car! Today have to pull the wheels off and hit the suspension and wheel components!
did you find that vibration? pull the motor already? Or is this the pre-cursor to that?
Not yet working in the vibration… I think we can get at the turbos without pulling the engine, or so we think! Anyway I am just trying to fix all the little issues with the car and it has a serious draw somewhere so we are tryin to get it dialed in so the next time I see you I can bring up the avant!
We have tracked it down to rear end or driveshaft…
We did a roll out on the driveshaft and it was within .004"
good to see you’re narrowing down the culprits
when did this vibration start happening???
When I bought the car…BOOOOO
Getting another driveshaft and rear diff today to see if that helps!
Nice, I think I have that same lift ha. Steam cleaning looks like it does wonders, something I might need to try out.
The rear diff is out of the car it hopes the solve the vibration problem. Found and bought one with axles for 275 and if had 116,000 miles on it. Anyone know where a bad ass diff rebuild shop, if this is not it I want to out in a carbon fiber or Kevlar driveshaft for less rotational weight and strength to go faster and look cooler when on a lift hahahah…I don’t know what else it could be (the vibration) … Any ideas out there?
Just throwing random ideas
- Slightly bent axle or not balanced
- warped brake disc
- bad uni joints
- I am not sure if you checked this and may seem really obvious but have you checked if your wheels are balanced properly
The last case I saw online of someone figuring out a mystery vibration was resolved when they found the input flange or something on the rear diff was bent. So sounds like that’s good that you’re checking that out. Also, a single-piece driveshaft is more likely to introduce new vibrations than it is to resolve any, just a heads up.
Axles know tomorrow, warpped discs only feel during braking this I feel after 50 and up, I flipped wheels To a different set same vibration, have to check the joints!
I thought it was the driveshaft which is why I replaced it in the first case, I always thought that it would make the car smoother not cause new vibrations.
