Here’s what 12.29 @ 113 looks like vs 12.5@110 looks like from 0-110. You can see delta at the end and subtract the gap he puts from 0-40 (top of 1st gear) to approximate a street race.
sakimano: Elromano:Curious. How would Pete’s S4 (or any other similarly modded) compare to Mistros or Saki’s RS4 (which are some of the fastest N/A)doing some roll-on runs, seriously. Like, from 40mph, 60mph and maybe some 3rd gear pulls from 60mph or higher?
Both on pump, full interior ;D ;D ;DHas anyone done any runs like these between two similarly modded B8 S4 and RS4? Perhaps you both should meet up!! It would be interesting to see the results!!

my car is nowhere near one of the fastest all motor rs4s…
As for Street racing, better to use time slips. If car is trapping 113 and car b is trapping 113, roll racing will be close particularly at high speed. If one car is running 12.0@113 and the other 12.5@110 like my car, the gap will be around 2-3 cars.

I’ve invited (Insert RS4 driver here) to the track a few times… Not sure why he avoids the track at all costs? Unless he went to the track last fall and is hiding his sub par times.

As I said I think he’s more than likely just avoiding you.
Maybe he will run his car when tsivas does?
To be honest you have to take a “pump gas record” with a grain of salt. Lets say a person desides to go to the dragstrip on saturday and go for the holy grail “pump gas record”. He puts 5 gallons of 93 octane in the car and heads to the track. He gets to the track and breaks the “pump gas record”. Hey great job! Only one problem…the weekend before you were running 109 octane on the 104 tune and forgot to change the tune to 93 octane tune. So really you didnt run on the correct pump gas tune, and probably had a mix of gas with a 100 octane rating left in the tank anyway. Not saying it has happened, but it could. I really dont know why anyone would care how fast your car is on pump anyway. pump gas record is the intercontinental championship belt. Race tune is the Heavy weight championship belt. Which one would you rather have??? thats what I thought! So come and get it!

WAR. ROOM. Lol.
Seriously, though, don’t we have like a 10-page thread on this somewhere?

Pete and nick’s cars are faster than mine anyways. You don’t need mine.
No interest with my car anyways saki. Stock Clutch with >50k miles on it and a Few months left with the car/daily driver not the best recipe. Sorry Holmes.
Besides I am having too much fun in the giac stage 2 dsg at the strip. Ill be using it at the May 12th atco rental all day.

I think the pump gas times are very relevant, as that is what 99.8% of us run our cars on normally.

Pump gas is what you run 98% of the time, along with seats, carpets etc. A pump time is an accurate representation of your cars street performance. Both have their place but each are just as important.

Haha. I think most of the people care about Street trim, which is Street tires, full interior and pump gas. Those who are benchmarking with the strip anyway. Those who are having fun with it or being competitive may like the race gas.
I mean why not pull your seats and catback off if all you care about is lowest time?
i believe you missed my point. Unfortunately no way to be 100% sure proper fuel and tune were used.

I never use race fuel…I’m 100% sure all the time

To be clear, I don’t want to see your car run. You explained that your clutch is knackered a while ago and I haven’t bugged you about it since.
I used your name because people have many reasons for not running their car. You’re a good example that maybe Pete can understand and relate to since he for some reason wants to shit on NY07RS4 for not doing what Pete wants.

ok i agree with that, but thats not what were talking about here.
definitely agree that there’s really no way to verify that a certain fuel was used. that’s one of those things where we have to rely on the guy’s reputation. it is probably the easiest variable to manipulate - and that’s especially true for tuning companies.

And thats all i’m saying…
Just seems crazy that people are so consumed by this, IMO

I was just addressing your last part of your post about the belt.
The other part, sure people will lie. What can you do. Shit happens.
For the most part in the rs4 world that I am most familiar with nobody cares about race gas times. For example the Apr 1320 rs4 cars…we don’t even have one race gas time ever run.
Race gas seems the domain of the smaller displacement engines like the 4 banger 2.0t and the v6. Its their replacement for displacement I guess.

Different strokes for different folks.
I am out few times a month with my car doing non track/non dig shenanigans at our test track and probably have done more pulls against cars there than almost anyone here.
But I am loving the GIAC Stage 2 with DSG software at the track. Can’t lie.
I have more runs in it than the owner lol. It’s fun as hell and their LC is violent.
i believe you missed my point. Unfortunately no way to be 100% sure proper fuel and tune were used.
100% 93 octane fuel was used, no higher octane fuel was in the tank. I pumped it myself at the local Exxon station.
The pump fuel program was used.
No meth, NOS, or other power adders were used.
Personally I think an 11 second run in 93 oct is more impressive than $8 a gallon fuel that most wouldn’t drive around the streets with.
Does e85 count as pump gas
