I really can’t be bothered to chase down 1.8T guys, but first things that look weird are
- he doesn’t say what track
- he says he picked his own car number (that doesn’t happen that way)
- his picture of the timeslip doesn’t show the date/track etc.
- he doesn’t have a picture of his car with the number on it
He basically did the bare minimum to get people to think his time is legit. It may very well be…but I couldn’t imagine cutting a 1.8 sixty foot time with a 180 whp car that weighs 3400 lbs. The backseat, spare, tools only weigh about 125 lbs. It’s not like he took 1000 lbs out.
So , give him the beiinefficientficientit of the doubt, but ask him to show the whole time slip. If he says he threw it out already, you know he’s a liar. When you run a record time, you save that thing. Hell, even when you don’t you probably do. I have about 150 timeslips in my home-office in a bulldog-clip.
and this guy is interesting. Claiming his K04 A4 ran high 13s (on his gtech)…then saying he can’t go to a strip because there isn’t one anywhere near him.
He lives in fucking DULUTH georgia and Atlanta Raceway is like 25 miles away. Someone point that out to him and watch him squirm his balls off with excuses for not being able to go.
[quote=tehc0de]Now If I even had a Drag strip even remotely near me, I’d post up some slips. I have the latest generation of the GTECH system, with RS enabled. And am quite pleased with my metrics, and just like you nobody seems to believe them
That being said, i’ve locked in upper 13’s on my K03, but at the same time, I don’t have any real world drag strip to prove that >.<
I haven’t encountered a gtech owner that wasn’t pleased with the metrics. I just think these people out here that haven’t used a gtech are just talking out of their asses because they don’t understand how it works.
Speedometer always +/- 1 mph, and the HP readings were only 3 HP off from a real world in-ground Dynojet 248c I tested on last month. Pretty amazing since all this is calculated with an accelerometer and extremely powerful gps. The mathematical equations to do so are probably well beyond my intellect lol.
