NHRA is a 2% grade. I don’t think you’ll find any Euro or foreign roadside stands sticking to that as your just putting out measuring equipment Who knows what your getting.

Power wise I don’t doubt you can do something a few times but from what I’ve read these motors have issues stock and jhm has documented the strength of the rods at each power level. We were told the RS4 blocks were almost unbreakable. Only to find that’s not true. We know the RS4 has better parts than the S4.

After looking into this I see absolutely no documentation on what’s been done to the car. All I’ve seen are some random pictures.

Correct me if I’m wrong but you seen to have hostility over this?

I think we all want to be excited but what are we excited about. We know nothing about the car and unlike the failed b5 platform we know better then to rally around sruff like this. Just months ago this same car struggled to go 14s. As said above there is no maf and if you look they have some weird box they put in the car for tuning. So there goes most any use of the car. Going back to when the last polish people built a s4 they did the same thing. They out gt turbos on a 2.7t S4 it didn’t impress so they put a standalone on the car and then added a 250 shot of nos.

I understand building the motor takes money, but if you think you’ll do it on your own combined with a machine shop for less than JHM and with comparable results…I think you’re delusional.

We aren’t a tough crowd, we are realistic and smart enough not to believe everything we see on the Internet. Who knows the next thing we may see is this kit offered on eBay or AZ and people will start throwing money their way. They have no testing, no modlist, nothing to back up these claims. That is how a platform goes to shit. Sorry but that is my opinion on this turbo kit.

nah, the fastest they claim is the 10.808.

As far as testing, looks like they’ve drove it around, vbox’d it, dyno’d it and tracked it MULTIPLE times. With videos to boot. Tough crowd yes, i mean come on look at every reason people put up to discredit the car with the evidence at hand. :-\

I think you’ve continued to miss the same point made over and over.

What are we supposed to be celebrating? You don’t know anything on what the car has other than a picture and some videos. If your standards are so low that this is all you need to get excited then congratulations. This isn’t the first platform someone has put something together or hacked up a car and put a turbo on it. As I’ve pointed out in my last post we have no documentation on what’s going on with the car.

I’ve also seen you make this comment before, sure great tuning is necessary, but you can’t tune around the weak limits of HARDWARE. It’s a balance between the proper hardware setup and tuning brings it all together. To run times like these the car has to be making pretty good power, way better than the stock motor can handle…regardless of the tune.

I feel like you’re a smart guy but you’re gullible. You make assumptions that certain things are simple. Last time we spoke about built motors… over two years ago…and you said you had everything sourced (pistons, rings, rods, a machinist). How is your build and testing coming? I also found it funny that you said the most expensive part was the timing components, but in my mind that is the easiest and least expensive part of the equation. JHM has been doing the R&D and changing their processes for the last few years on their built motor so I hardly believe any part of a BHF build can be handled in ONE SHOT. Anyways if you do go through with an attempted build keep us posted.

I think it’s great to have a positive attitude and to let ones imagination run wild.

It’s apparent that q_dubz requirements for proof and requirements to believe something is possible, don’t match what’s been proven. I think it’s great to be optimistic but you’ll find being realistic tends to produce much better results.

This has been documented. There’s a company that has blown about 6 B6 S4 motors over the years on their in house shop car while determining what the engine can handle.

If the Polish guys have a stock motor in their car, and they’re trapping 130+, they’re making around 550 whp, and about 400-450 wtq … minimum. That is well beyond the DOCUMENTED failure zone on the poorly built cast internals on the BHF engine.

You’re the guy who was saying 2 years ago how easy it was and cheap to get a built motor…now you’re saying it’s naivite to think you need to build a motor to handle this power? Also, where is your built motor big shot?

And if you watch the video of this claimed 10.808 you never see the timer or a slip and the dude driving is wearing no helmet with shorts and a t-shirt. Doesn’t seem very convincing, why are you a believer?

Oh so if I go take a video of myself driving fast down a strip of road that I tell you I measured with gps and say I was able to do it in 10.8 seconds your going to just believe me right? I’m thinking I can pull a 9 second run in the case lol.

That means nothing without an actual video of the run at an NHRA/IHRA, or FIA in your case, approved/regulated track and a slip. That site means nothing without proof but your quick to believe the writing even when the video shows nothing but some guy driving the car and beating a corvette. Just because it’s on the internet doesn’t mean it’s true in case you didn’t know. Obviously your response will claim otherwise.

Do I know the specifics or the documented statistics of this car? No, but I am interested, and I’ll find out more before I am so quick to critique it.

As someone who has hand build their motor and hand selected and installed the parts to a turbo kit I can tell you it’s no cake walk.

If I came In here as a proud b6 s4 owner who just put hours and hours of work into my car to make it significantly faster(dispute what you will on 10s cars, look at the speedo this thing moves) and I was greeted with the attitude I’m seeing here, I would be completely turned off by this forum.

People put a lot of work into their cars, let’s take a step back from critiquing everyone’s “subpar” work and realize how much thought and labor went into a project like this.

Great points Mec and agreed! Since being in Europe in the past, I’ll chim in with my experience with European tuning. These guys sure could squeeze power out of any engine and are quite good at it. However, I’ve seen it first hand time and time again, majority of them build high power cars without giving much thought of longevity. Meaning it lacks realibility. It sure does make power, but then in a near future you’d have to pull an engine and rebuild it or get a new one, think nascar. It kind of comes with territory and most don’t mind that. Personally I’d rather make less power, but reliable power.
Besides if it were so easy to get that kind of power, I’m sure everybody would be having JHMs Turbo kit on their S4. Add me to the list of sceptics. I’ll reserve my judgement till I see some concrete info on what went on into this build in order to produce such numbers.
