B8 S4 Launching

I’m down for that!

that sounds like a solid bet to me

PSshitty, I remember you coming to the B6/7 forum to talk shit on AZ…can’t remember what it was about though because you were just being a little dick wart.

Great idea Saki, that bet is as solid as they come…let the excuses roll bimmer boy

Sure that works for me. Saki so you’re telling me you think dropping the clutch is the best way to launch? I agree with getting it on the upswing of the RPM’s but not just dropping it completely. I already explained why I said it was a cult. I am not excluded because as you can see i’m posting right now. Unfortunately it was described like that from cfritos who it seems like has been lying consistently to auditude also. That would explain why auditude thinks I said so many of the things i’ve said

Also in response to Auditude here is my response to what he just wrote which I posted on the other forum:

[quote]Again that is some real nice selective evidence. If Chris sent you the entirety of every single message between him and I you would see what I said afterwords which was usually me becoming serious. “My son and SMH” is my way of fucking with Chris to get him annoyed. I did not say shit about your car being fast or slow until chris told me “even pete said yours was terrible. and he thinks you shift like a grandma”. I don’t like people talking behind my back so that is when the majority of that stuff was said. i stand by everything I said above, twisting my words and using very selective evidence. I do not have the time or need to come run you to prove anything to you. If you would like to come down here then I will run you and we will see what happens.

Also do some reading on N54’s. That’s not shifting like a diesel. You are supposed to keep the car in the powerband which is below 6k so you are supposed to short shift. I am not flaunting my numbers or making claims about them, I merely have them posted in sigs because I get PM’s all the time from stock xi owners wondering what their car might make with similar mods. I didn’t respond to your launch by doing one of my own. I went out and decided to try to launch for the first time and video it because Chris told me “Hahahahaha. You will never get a good launch like that in your life” (referring to his video). Again it’s not your fault that Chris is lying and sending you very selective texts and excerpts of my conversation with him. I guess in that case I understand why you were putting words in my mouth and it is reasonably acceptable given the information that you had received.

I remember. That was because my friend (also friends with cfritos) got completely shat on by you guys for his B6 S4. You talked shit about his tune, his headlights, etc when he just wanted some compliments so I defended him since he did not feel like doing it himself.

Yes we are all saying dumping the clutch is the best fucking way to launch an AWD Audi. Is your reading comprehension that poor?

Not dumping it completely = slipping

We made it clear that is the wrong way to launch these cars

Yes my reading comprehension is awful. It’s amazing I can even understand a full sentence. I guess we’ll have to agree to disagree. Maybe your cars are different than every other AWD platform out there because that is not the consensus on every single other platform. Continue doing whatever pleases you and I wish you the best of luck. Hopefully everything holds up well

He made like 320whp on an APR tune and all I wanted was him to go to a dragstrip…which he still has not. The point was dynos mean nothing, he also posted a video spanking an E93 M3s ass that didn’t even look like he was rainy hime.

…and you thinking shifting at 5000RPMs is optimum is laughable…please shift at 5k when you race Auditude…lol

Let me know when you want to meet at Englishtown. I’ll give you gas money to make it down and buy you lunch for coming.

lol, plenty of us AWD audi guys have dozens of cluth dumps on a dragstrip and street. Hell the fastest times and 60’s I had were on a car with original clutch and 60k miles.

I’m not sure where you get your info, but I just looked at some N54 guys posts and 5000RPM is no where near the RPM you should be shifting at, but I’ll let you believe that so you can try it in a race against Auditude.

Who said anything about shifting at 5k? the person in here posted that I shifted at 5k and I said no that was 6k. And yes go gain some knowledge on N54’s, they all shift at 6k in order to stay in the powerband.

Good deal and I will actually take you up on that most likely next spring but maybe this winter. Is englishtown open during december or is it only spring/summer? I definitely want to run a 1/4 mile but as I said i’m not going to lie I am afraid of my clutch or transfercase going. I just went out and tried to get a launch a minute ago and my clutch slipped all of first gear. I’m going to try again in a little bit and hope it holds well enough for a video but we’ll see. If it slips again I will wait until I upgrade it then gladly come down to englishtown with you for some friendly competition.

Is that before or after they go into limp mode?

So maybe your method of launching in incorrect?

Ehh depends on what caused the limp mode. If it’s misfires then it could be either before or after

As far as I know no. Unless I want my transfercase to go out and have to replace that then definitely no. The worm gear on these transfercases is not very strong and if the car has to transfer a lot of power to the front wheels relatively quickly they are known to blow. That is why I prefer to slip the clutch and not just put all that stress on the drivetrain. Same as STI and EVO guys

have you tried launching at a lower rpm? I think right around 3k is the sweet spot for me. At least on the street, I may be going to atco one of these tuesdays before they close up for the winter.

lolol

Well I did yesterday at 3.5K which didn’t seem aggressive enough for me. In a little bit I guess i’ll go out and try one at 4500 and one at 3500 and see what happens on a more aggressive map. Hopefully the clutch holds and they turn out well. That video that I took yesterday was literally my first time ever launching the car with the 2 step. I have tried launching in the past before but only a few times and they were never good launches.

Don’t bother going to englishtown. Just meet up and race for $50 and the signature shame!

It will be fun. Less contentious.

Just get togh
