B8 S4 record!! Plus AMD HP kit content

Decided to hit up Englishtown today with my pops and Tsivas…

Got there at 7:45 and we got our first run at 10:15. Place was mobbed, probably over 200 cars so it was a disaster. First run was before it adapted. First run was 11.661@117.53 with a 1.689 60’. That was with my pops behind the wheel (260lbs) so we knew that the car had more in it. Unfortunetly they had some type of gamblers race and our second run didn’t come till 1:30!! Car literally sat in the lanes for 3 hours. This time our B8 jockey Tsivas jumped behind the wheel (170lbs) and he went out to do the next run. We got to line up with Dave and his gorgeous B7 RS4 with AMD HP Supercharger Kit. This was the record run!! 11.589@118.77 with a 1.682 60’. We were all thrilled to say the least. Dave got a 11.914@119.34 with a 1.809 60’. That was the best of his two runs. IIRC his last run was 12.2@115.xx.

It was nice meeting you Dave and I’m sure your car has more in it. Only concern I had was that I did see a load of smoke coming from the exhaust which might be something related?? I wanted to tell you but we didn’t see you around again.

DA on the record run was +800 and temp was 64 degrees. Slight crosswind.

The B8 guys killing it again. Congratulations man I don’t think your record will fall for a long long time. That combination of great modded b8 the driver and the knowhow is going to be very hard to beat. Giac strikes back with a big win for the B8 guys.

Well done! Impressive stuff for the supercharged 3.0! How did the dsg flash feel?

That’s fucking awesome, still though I’m sure the R8 had some issues, many be running extremely rich or Maybe a compression test should be done?

Either way, big congrats to you guys for pushing it even further! Is this a new world record?

Wonder how long it will take GIAC to do a writeup and post it all over the forums ;D

Hahaha awesome

Man do I ever have to eat a shit burger for saying you guys will get raped . I was foolish to have any faith in AMD

GREAT RUNS! I love adding new records. Will do when I get home.

ROFL you guys are hilarious. I guess Mistro is our platform’s equivalent lol

Awesome stuff guys! I was stoked when I got the email from Tsivas… The best part is the car probably has another .05 to maybe a tenth ET to squeeze out with a better 60 and conditions… Close to 11.4x IMO… Fucking crazy really… Great stuff guys!!!

As for the comparison, that RS4 needs to be taken out of the line much harder IMO… There’s a ton of 60ft opportunity there, I’d love a few attempts(I’m sure Pete would as well)… lol No way that car is running low 11’s though…

Props to AWE/GIAC…

B8 S4 FTW!

Stunning results. Just when you thought the b8 has hit it’s limits it just keeps getting faster.

As for the rs4. Those 60 foot times are about as good as it gets.

Awesome stuff Tsivas/Pete! Congrats!

Fucking need to step my game up.

He’s not leaving much on the table. An amazing launch would yield maybe a 1.68-1.72 time. He had a very good 1.80.

With his trap and a world class launch he’s running 11.7. But his trap isn’t getting any better…likely worse. 119 mph means 410-420 whp or so in a B7 RS4. Unfortunately it is advertised as 500whp.

So either something is wrong with the kit, or something was tweaked with the ‘test’ car with which amvivgngknd ran 11.36@126

Smells like race gas and weight loss was used on the ‘test’ car if kryptonik’s car is healthy and trapped 119 with the same kit.

Also food for thought this is the second independently verified metric for this kit. The first was a dyno run done by tridoctor aka gesTTalt. He dyno’d…420 whp.

Wow - congrats guys!! Great stuff. I never thought the B8 would be able to do any better than 11.6 on the stock blower. Pretty incredible.

And this is the first time in a while the record-holder isn’t within .01/.001 of second place. You guys really put some separation between the next best.

Impressive times but the 1/4 is stupid; hit the dyno and report back.

But seriously, congratulations! Really impressive.

Yeah they crushed him… By two 100ths lol

It’s nuts how tight it is! Funny to watch. Would be annoying to run 11. 96 or something with same mods.

Nice runs.

PT when are you going to stop playing with the TT and get APR back on the leader board?

“These cars weren’t made for the dragstrip. They were made for going 'round corners!”

“If you wanted a drag car, you bought the wrong one!”

“The dragstrip is for rotten American cars, not our fancy Audis!”

Haha whoops! Good call-out on that one. Not sure what I was thinking . . .

Congtrats Auditude and Tsivas on the record run! The car sounds damn good! Was great meeting you guys and putting a face to a name… look forward to some future 1/4 mile GTGs with you all, can’t believe you have to go so far for a track though, sucks there is nothing closer to you guys. Keep me posted next time you go out.

As far as my car goes, I’m not going to talk about it on this thread, this thread is about you guys not me. I’ll talk about it on my own thread.

I thought you were serious. I mean they did double the margin of the last 2nd, 3rd and 4th gaps so that’s something

Talk about pushing the system to the wall though. Not a wall because that’s a bad analogy. More of a rubber sheet…you can push into it and get a bit of give but you’re not blasting through it.

Will be interesting to see what guys do next without finding another power adder. I reckon weight savings are getting tougher to find now that wheels rotors etc are done. You DSG guys don’t have a LWFW or something to drop a quick 10-12 pounds rotating.
