man, I bet JNAUT was ready to slay me with trash talk (for getting his fastest stock RS4 title back)
Not sure if jspazz was really unsure or just a bit of a wind up! lol
Cayuga has held numerous NHRA events, many of which have thwarted some of our plans to go. For SW Ontarians (and judging by the Port Huron/Sarnia border, Michiganier people), don’t forget the drag strip at Sparta: http://www.stthomasracewaypark.com/ I was surprised such a small, middle of nowhere strip was NHRA certified. Cool people. The new owners had to spend money on the pavement to get it up to speed for NHRA certification.
I think he is just being a tool now because he realizes that not everything gets waved on by over here…
I’ve been to Sparta many many times, coming on 20 years ago. Used to be London Motorsports Park.
It’s a nicer track and surface than Cayuga, at least it was back then, but once Grand Bend was built it lost a lot of events.
Cayuga was the crappy track at the time. No I really didn’t see them listed, the map is deceiving esp looking on my iPhone. I wanted someone to check.
St Thomas/Sparta looks great. Set in a forest. Cayuga is a shit hole, but it’s close to Toronto. Somehow it’s still near bankruptcy ever 5 minutes.
re: that map, it’s not your phone…it’s a retarded map. Looks like the divisions were made by Miss Teen South Carolina

Talked to the guy that runs no limit raceway, and he said its a waste of time to be certified NHRA/IHRA.
Hahahaha! Another words MONEY!
Hahaha! I guess TIME = MONEY. I thought dragstrips made their money from NHRA/IHRA type events. People travelling from far and wide, crowds spending money at the concessions etc… I know it gets busy in the Summer at Cayuga/TMP, but enough people paying $30 to turn a profit? (I’ve never been when it’s really busy, so I have no idea)
^^^they do. The ones that don’t host those events go bust. Hell, most of the ones that DO host those events go bust.
The biggest event of the year though for these places? Armdrop. That’s that nerd from pinks…he has a ‘tour’ he does every summer where he goes to different places and does the big armdrop bracket competition. It’s Cayuga’s biggest weekend too.
He would say that though, wouldn’t he? He’s justifying his reasoning for not bothering with it.
I don’t think it’s a waste of money, and personally I wouldn’t want to go to a non-certified dragstrip for a number of reasons
- did I really just run what the slip said? Or is this guy making sure he has ‘the fastest track around’
- are they following the safety rules?
- are they doing proper safety and tech inspections of the other cars (i.e. the ones that are side by side with my RS4 on the track at 100+ MPH?
The fact there were SIX cars there on a Saturday should tell you all you need to know about what the public thinks about his track.
There was an event at an airstrip in upstate new york that a friend asked me to go to. It was a quarter mile event. I said ‘what’s the point’? If you want to go to an airstrip and we can do rolling start runs up to 150 MPH and compare some cars, and just go batshit wild, speedwise, sure let’s give it a shot. But if I’m going there just to run the quarter mile, but in a non-certified environment what’s the point? I’d rather just go to Cayuga.

Hey, thanks for the offer! I believe I run Sunoco gt260, I’ll check for sure. Yes JHM rotors.
