not on a B7
Me thinks B7 guys have to pull the bumper.
Yeah, my mechanic says you can’t get to the fill unless you pull the bumper (on my B7, don’t know about the B6).
To access a headlight on the b7 you need to pull the bumper. Thus very different to the B6
This is why I would like to try the quick release kit from move over racing. Very discreet, and looks like it would meet intent.
so the chrome paint I got doesn’t look anything the way its advertised to look its a shiny silver nowhere near the mirror like finish its supposed to be. id show pics but u can really only notice it phusically looking at it.
the left headlight looks perfect because everything is new so im going to order an a4 light and switch all the bezel parts over and put the new lens on so they look the same.
as far as the bumper goes ill make a decision on what to do with it after I do the first oil change on the supercharger.
Score one for the B6.
Yeah the more I think about it, the more I actually like that solution. Especially if you need to pull the bumper off the B7 to refill the s/c oil. If you color match it them, you’ll probably barely even notice them.
I could be an option for sure but the way im thinking ill button up the corner is just one screw and then the inner liner to hold it in place. I don’t plan on putting the belly pan back on at all. if theres a leak in anything u wont know with the pan on so at least for awhile she wont have it.
its gonna be a trial and error for me, I want easy access but don’t want the bumper to floppin like a limp dick in the wind.
Bumper removal takes 20 minutes. If you are doing it about one or maybe twice a year I don’t think quick release is worth it. Over the years we are talking an hr or two of your life. It is going to take longer than that to install a quick release kit…and that’s if one exists for the b7 rs4 (i can promise it doesn’t, and what is out there won’t work)
What’s the point?
X100
You’ll spend several hours tryin to install that thing, and I’d be horrified of cutting into the bumper and then having an alignment issue afterwards with no ability to adjust like you do with the factory parts.
C’mon, if you do it enough, I was able to have my B7 bumper off in 10 min flat. I spent more time getting it on jack stands. Hell I got I good at doing it without even removing the wheels. If you have the right tools, it takes no time at all.
great point…the height alignment, if you cut wrong, is unusable and that is a HUGE factor. I forgot about that.
don’t even consider that quick release thing.
ok ok u guys win. ill stop whining about having to remove the bumper to service my supercharger. (first world problems lol)
ok so ive got an issue here. I cant roll my car out of the garage so I can work on the wifes truck. the car will rock back and forth but wont roll. its klike the clutch is engaged but its not. when I can make it roll the crank pulley does not move. I moved it about a foot and that’s it.
is there some kind of security feature I don’t know about. it wont roll clutch in or in neutral.
^^^^ disregard im a fuckin retard, I threw the wheels back on and used the extended bolts for my spacers and didn’t put the spacers on so the were hitting something. put the stock bolts in and good to go. : dammit.
its out lol.
I cant believe how low the engine is to the now. snapped a quick pic but its hard to actually see the height in the dark.
trucks going in now and its getting rotors, pads, calipers, wheel bearings, ujoints and water pump then back to the RS

You crack me up man, glad you found the problem though.
Ya some days are better than others. Fuckin fuck. Thank fuck for booze.
+1
Just gotta be careful to not do anything stupid while WUI. Like putting your rotors on the wrong side or forgetting to install the parking brake spring and bracket. Not that I’ve done those things, just saying
I always stop working once I get tipsy lol. ive learned my lessons trying to do anything of importance when under the influence lol. plus I usually end up leaking from somewhere.
Lol. Life (shit) happens to the best of us leakers.
