Lower always looks cooler but having a bumper still on the car would be more cool. I would keep it up too. Still looks awesome
thanks Justin, I know im nowhere near the first person to do the h&r springs but I really really love the stance and am so happy with it.
so ive been really busy in the last week and haven’t had a chance to get out to the garage to make any more progress on the supercharger. this weekend I was stuck with a house full of kids so again I wasn’t really able to just hang out in the garage so I decided I would do the headlight mod just sitting at the island where I could still keep an eye and ear on the kids.
I like the way it turned out and Its actually really easy to take the headlights all apart. I didn’t brake any clips at all and it doesn’t take a lot of time.
what I did was paint the silver and charcoal plastic pieces of the light flat black. I also popped out the orange lens and replaced the orange bulb with a chromed stealth bulb. basically the cheap way to make your own e-code lights.
one thing I did fuck up though is that when I was finished and ready to put everything back together I sprayed the chrome pieces with windex just to clean off all my finger prints, well the chrome is so fragile that the windex took it right off the plastic. so tomorrow im gonna try and repaint the piece I fucked up with chrome paint. if that doest work ill order an a4 headlight and nick the chrome bezel and the lens. my left headlight is newer than the right and even though I just polished the shit out of the right lens it still doesn’t look as new as the left.
I chose to try this to save a bit of money if it didn’t look good I would just buy the ecode lights from the guy on ebay but apparently a lot of ppl are getting them and theyre broken inside so ppl are still having to take them apart and use parts from theyre oem headlights to makem work. im happy with how the one looks.
heres a link I read awhile back that got me wanting to do this.

Looks good. I am gonna try to tackle that once I get back. I just really don’t enjoy taking off front bumpers. Thought about one of those quick release kits since there will be a periodic requirement to change SC oil.
theres a quick release kit? im def not gonna be putting it back on the way its supposed to go. ive been thinking about how often its gonn have to come off too.
I guy I know has an Evo with the quick release kit. It has a big turbo and is putting down like 6-700 whp so he has to take the bumper off to access the turbo. There’s four clips holding it on (all hidden iirc) and it takes like 15 sec to pull the bumper off. Only problem is that if you were to get in an accident I think the bumper would explode off the car cause there is nothing really holding it on there.
That’s similar…I just don’t plan on wrecking Me thinks it would be sweets to be able to drops the bummmper quikzlyke…
If it works the way I’m planning is to have only one screw in each wheel well and then just the ones under the hood. Shouldn’t take more than 10 min to pop off. The clips the hold it to the fender should be enough to hold it. I’m Def not putting the nuts back on the plastic screws because that’s what took me almost the time to get it off. I’m gonna ask mec what he did. He has his on and off at the side of the road.
Couldn’t help but share this ghetto solution.

Imagine that shit on an rs4 haha.
On my Honda rs4 lol
that’s actually kinda slick. we’ll see how I get on with it the way it is and how often I actually take it off and then that might be an option
Yeah I like that better but that’s definitely more of a track car thing. I think it’d look kinda silly on a daily driver. I don’t think you’ll be taking the bumper off that much?
On a black car maybe. Or if you could colour match those
That’s what I was thinking. U wouldn’t even notice those 2 little black circles on my car
That’s why I like them. Functional only since we have to do somewhat regular oil changes on the Vortech kit…
what is regular…2 years? 1 year?
Every 7,500 miles, but I was under the impression all you need to do is pull out the headlight and it could be easily filled without removing the bumper.
Shoot, Jake said it was a piece of cake, and that I could do it on the side of the road. ???
