badtoyz build thread.

ya fuck patience is not my strong suit.

anyhoo I finished the car completely today. first off I cant tell u how unbelievably powerful it feels. I feel like I own the fastest car in the world right now lol. a rolling third gear pull form 2000 to 8000 feels incredible. the power comes on fast and feels like it just keeps getting stronger and stronger as the revs climb. im so very very impressed.

the clutch feels firm but not too firm. I like it. I am getting a small amount of chatter when starting on a hill sometimes but im sure that will even itself out with break in.

the short shifter feels great forward and back but I feel like there is more play than there should be when in gear going side to side. also reverse feels like it barely gets in there and popped out on me twice today. might need a little tweaking.

the last modification i had to do.

here she is all buttoned up. everything in its home and the hood pins installed. im still not happy with how the hood sits even with the new hinges. im thinking the hinge holes need to bigger to allow the hood to sit down more.

when i first started the car i got a shit ton of codes for things i forgot to plug in. i cleared them all and went driving today, the car was great and i got about 50 km in before i got the cel. i just cleared it and drove about another 50 km and got it back so i actually scanned it and heres what i got.

so whats the intake air switch over valve? and whats the deal with the sensor for parking aid? as far as i can remember we don’t have park assist. seems the resistor for the one foglight bulb is faulty. and my o2 sensor code is b2s2 which iirc is passenger side rear sensor right? if that’s the case im pissed cuz that sensor is brand new.

Sorry about your codes… I’m not technically well versed in the RS4 enough yet to be able to help you out. I need to learn more!

But, I wanted to post and say that your car looks fantastic! (and it must be a ton of fun to drive when working…)

Well the possible good news is

B1 is the passenger side
B2 is the driver side
S1 is the very front sensor
S2 is the very back sensor.

So B2 S2 is the driver side rear.
The air change over sensor is on the air box it’s a little sensor you plug in still. Thanks for all the updates.

I thought that was the air box sensor. But plug it in where? The air box is gone. That’s if I can even find the plug.
I’m not overly concerned because I don’t think that sensor throws a cel. I’m just kinda pissed that my brand new o2 sensor that has less than a few thousand km on it is faulty. J bought it from ecs last year but because the car has been sitting so long there’s no way they will exchange it. I’m happy that my front o2s seem to be holding up though.

Sorry to hear about that shitty O2. They’re not exactly known to be robust parts.

Your car looks absolutely incredible though and I’m sure the power is insane. Also, I just want to say that that’s the best hood prop I’ve ever seen haha

I just went to get my sticker too and I waited too long So i require an etest so I ordered an o2 and ill be pulling everything apart to find the plug for the airbox flap now. Good thing i put everything together last night lol.

And ya totally rockin the snow brush hood prop.

That sucks about the 02. I had that happen. To me. I got brand new 02s installed them and one was bad. It is frustrating. That custom hood prop is car show winning material. If your a car guy who had at least one broom stick like hood prop in your lifetime.

lol true story.

I found the connector for the air box flap, I found the solenoid its supposed to be attached to. it was on the bracket for the sai pump I removed. I plugged it in and zip tied it up and no more code. I also removed the one resistor for the fog light on the driver side and just plugged it abck into the foglight and got rid of that code. all I have left now is the o2 sensor and that park assist which I didn’t even know I had.

Your RS4 is looking on point! Glad you found the problem, those sensors can sometimes be a BITCH

my o2 didn’t come today so Monday now. clutch break in continues… its nice and cool today tonight would be a good night for a pass… ::slight_smile:

So I’m noticing now that my clutch engages right at the floor and if u Rev the car with clutch in and in first gear it starts to roll forward. Is this the sign of an issue or is this normal during break in. I never noticed this before today. I have about 200km on it now.

I’m gonna jack it up and follow jhms bleeding procedure tomorrow. If anyone has any input or help feel free to tell me. This is my first time bleeding the clutch in this car

Sounds like the pressure plate bolts are backing out. Either they weren’t patient putting it on, or they didn’t put loctite on, despite the instructions

Fuck sakes. I made him read the instructions with me and he swore up and down he loctited everything.

Well I won’t be drivin the car until I know what’s happening for sure now. I’ll try and bleed the clutch and see if that helps. If not It’s goin back in on Monday. Fuck. This is exactly why I can’t stand other ppl touching my car cuz I don’t know for 100 percent what has actually been done.

It sucks but you would be amazed how many shops just do things there way. This isn’t just a audi thing You can read across the other makes of cars and it’s the same story.

Mother fucker. If we pull the tranny and the bolts are loose and I don’t see red lock tight somebody’s gettin a right hook.

I would be more concerned that th PP was tightened down in evenly and he warped the springs. Make sure you also check that.

I called the owner of the shop and lost my fucking mind on him. Tranny being pulled first thing Monday morning. I’m trying to be calm until I can see for myself what’s up but I’m fucking livid right now. If installation error fucked up my shit someone will die.

Sorry for the rant but I’m pissed. Should have just done it myself.

Take it easy. If it’s a good shop they will make it right. Make it you vs them though and they may not be so willing to help

Yup and if your not careful they won’t tell you exactly new hats wrong because at that point they will want to cover there butt
