ok i will make sure. ill go tm and put it back together myself.
is there an upgraded slave or should an oem one be fine? or let me rephrase is the metal slave any better than the oem? the threads i keep reading are indecisive and when everyone thought the slave was to blame for the sticky clutch issue.
We have always used the OEM slave.
Yes, red locktite is required!
Also use the OEM slave. I have the metal slave and SS line but there isn’t a worthwhile difference.
ok i will order an oem slave and a stainless line.
so the red loctite wasn’t used the first time on the PP bolts? explains the sensation -if they backed out a bit.
no it was used and the bolts were at the proper spec. I was just confirming that yes Loctite is to be used on those 6 bolts. everything they did they did exactly as per the instructions. im thinking the line is flexing under the stress of the stronger pp or the slave is beginning to fail. probably the first time the clutch has been done so its all 8 years old.
im just happy that the clutch is ok. I still need to recheck the fingers on the pp though.
I have a question for everyone with the trio installed. what kind of side to side play do u have when in gear. I feel like I have too much but maybe that’s just because my g35 doesn’t move at all side to side.
I still don’t have reverse right so I need to make some more adjustments. im fairly confident now though that moving the base forward will get me reverse where it needs to be.
Bad Toyz, Bad Toyz whatchu gonna do when they come for you?
I bet you get that a lot. I start singing it everytime i see your SN.
my slave and master were replaced under warranty when the master failed. My clutch started going to the floor and sticking there, or the car would stall with the clutch in.
Yea, focus on getting all the gears right first (i.e. reverse). Until all the gears are right, you can’t really accurately expect the rest of it to be right either.
The oem stuff is more then fine no gain going different.
Also when your installing the pressure plate. If the pressure plate bolts don’t have loctite on them right now they installed it wrong. Those bolts should have red on the ends
but badneighbourhoodRS4 and his band of moronic delusional know-nothings said that the metal parts are a MUST HAVE!
Lol yes shhhhhh don’t tell the guys who don’t work on there cars and don’t know how things work that they don’t need them. It’s stuff like that and parts like that that help show the dumb from the do it yourself guy. Guys that don’t know go one of two ways. They over pay for something they don’t need because they don’t know anything or they just buy ebay parts because of the same thing.
I think I got oem slave with a braided a line. I got a txt saying parts were in but ive been up at my trailer and im only back for a day to shuffle kids around. ill ask exactly what I got when I get back. car should be back together soon again. more updates next week.
clutch is sorted. replaced the slave with an oem one and had a braided stainless line custom made. drove the car over 200km today and the release point is same as stock again now. i also got my o2 sensor in and went for my etest. i passed but the government did not like that i had messed with the software. they made the guy test my car 3 times and at the end of each one he had to put a headset on and actually talk to government etest ppl. he explained to me that the software not matching up and the fact that i cleared all the logs so there was nothing to see was an issue for them. i was sweatin bullets waiting there but in the end they had to pass it after 3 tests and no faults.
so shes back on the road and clutch break in continues…
how useless are most government programs. Its great that you passed but to need to talk to someone. What a waste of our money. Sure we need a call center now for emissions testing lol what a joke. Even more funny was the issues wasn
t the huge supercharger or exhaust that was the issue.
Good to hear the car is back on the road. Definitely take the time to brake that clutch in
ya really… all they wanted to know was who fucked with the software and why there were no logs to read. its not illegal to tune your car… yet.
so im still wrestling with this short shifter i cant seem to get it right. is there anyone local that has gotten it right that could maybe show me or give me a hand. i havent gotten reverse perfect it pops out if i dont hold it and when shifting in a straight line it feels crooked if that makes sense.
Is the reverse notch on the shifter facing the passenger seat?
