badtoyz build thread.

popular theory

how much for 2 new ECUs? or 2 used ECUs cloned?

I thought the same thing as Justin when Badtoyz messaged me.

I would try a bunch of stuff before buying new ECUs though.

I said that to him the day it happened on pm. I’ve seen a couple of Audis going through car washes and having funky electrical gremlins.

Have you looked at this yet?

1 Fault Found:
00779 - Outside Air Temp Sensor (G17)
010 - Open or Short to Plus

Just to see if it is messing with the electrical system?

On an S5, we saw a failed electronic engine mount solenoid take out a HPFP solenoid causing the car to run like poo.

Poo??? Are we being politically correct now???

I’m gonna take it in cuz I just don’t know. New ecus are 1500 which isn’t too horrible. But I’m gonna have them test all my crap for me. Water is a possibility but I can’t see it in there the unit is pretty well sealed.

No I don’t have the stock hood anymore.

Keep us posted. It will be interesting to see how this turns out. Its got to be an electrical issue and those can be the hardest to track down

are we no longer able to modify old posts? I can modify current ones but not old. lots of people asking me for the link to my build thread and supercharger install but it seems the link on page 7 doesn’t work and I cant modify my first post to contain the link for the sc install.

heres the link again for all who were asking.

How’s the car coming. Did you get the electronic issue sorted out

I noticed this a while ago with my DIY threads. If a post is over 120 days old then it can’t be edited. I wonder if God did that so the trolls can’t go back and delete what they post after they reach 150 posts since it would take soooooo long for them to reach 150 posts.

I figured it was some kind of reason like that.

I’m still hunting down this electrical issue. Latest thing now is its throwing a o2 sensor code with no cel. This is a bitch for sure.

That would do it. Thats what took and kept denrs4 from getting to full rpm on the dyno when he went. That just might be the issue

Didn’t you just replace the o2 sensors?

my mechanic figured it out!!! it was the component supply relay located right under the ecu. car is reving all the way to redline now and not showing any more codes except the 02 which is being replaced under warrantee… again. I’m hoping the o2 is just the last faulty one I get because I blelive this will be the 8th rear 02 sensor ive gone through this year.

Awesome, glad you have the car back up and healthy again. That number of O2’s going bad seems odd. Wonder if something else might be going on causing them to fail?

Weird! What signs showed that relay was failing? Did it smell burnt or look burn on any of the pins?

Glad that it is revving up to redline again.

Good luck with the O2s!

we need some footage of your car vs. mine and/or mistro’s to see the gaps between full exhaust vs. full bolt ons vs. stage 1 supercharger. Would be interesting.

Are the o2 sensor showing signs of moisture contamination on the heating element ?

Now get back to the track!!

That would be pretty sweet!

He just said that looking at the codes it made him suspect the relay. Swapped it out and all codes were gone and have not come back. I asked if it looked wet and he said no it looked fine.

If we can get sparta to open one more time for us this year u know I’m in. I know it’s going up to like 13c this week but looks pretty damp.

Someone needs to sell me stage 1 plus. lol.
