maybe I will try and get some actual temps under the hood with and without. driving and standing still and see what works best.
I wouldn’t do it at all as under-hood temps are somewhat irrelevant relative to what the plate is there to do

bought all my fluids. trimmed and installed the front clip, reattached all lines and hoses and actually started the car for the first time in over 8 mos. everything seems to be ok and I had no leaks.
the only real tip I have for getting the friont support back on is to just pop it on with 2 bolts loosely so u can maneuver wiring and hoses back into their homes easily.
I tried to save one of the belly pan brackets but after a few test fits getting nowhere I said fuck it and cut it off. its just to close to one of the idler pulleys to stay.
I got everything setup on my laptop to change the tune but for some reason I cant get it to initialize with my ecu. im not the most computer savy person and when shit doesn’t work I find myself getting extremely fucking frustrated really quickly so after reading the instructions 10 times and making sure I was doing everything correct im giving up until I talk to jake. the cable itself has a rattle to it when u shake it so I may have a faulty cable or I could retarded, the latter being more likely. once its on the ground again im just going to drive it over to foreign auto for the clutch to be installed. so this is about it for my install!

I went to buy g12 after speaking with Justin about all his research on the different coolants. the guy at the desk said its g13 now?? but couldn’t tell me if there was any difference between 12 and 13? I also bought the audi power steering fluid and if I had have checked the price before I just swiped and paid I wouldn’t have. I bought 2 litres and it was 30 bucks a litre!!! for good measure I used de ionized water to mix with the g13. 2.50 for 4 litres who cares, why even risk corrosion.
BTW power steering fluid is green now?? who knew!

When you plug the computer into your car and computer make sure the green light is on. That says the cable is good.

it was my inabaility to follow instructions that was the problem. I was following instructions for the wrong operating system. jake got me sorted and the car is now tuned and at foreign auto for clutch and short shifter.
I will say this the car pulls wicked hard. the clutch cant handle the power even from a roll it just slips like crazy in 1st. I cant wait to feel it when I can actually get the power to the ground.
ill be making a dyno date at neetronics and will have it at the track as soon as everything is broken in and ready to be beat on.
cool man. Can’t wait to check it out. Take your time on that 5R break in. Won’t be great weather for at least another 3 months anyway for breaking records (and hearts lol).
I can’t wait to see if you can post a better ET with the basic JHM kit than the big $15,000 kits do. We get some good DA at Cayuga and St Thomas and good track prep.
one last thing to add. ppl whos concern is all about the foglight, I figured out a happy medium.you cant keep a functional light but u can cut away all the space required but also cut the lens bracket. I then used a couple zip ties to keep it solid and voila lens still there. Im going to keep the mesh open for air to get across the charger but do what denis did and use a smaller mesh behind it to keep debris out. it will be extremely difficult to tell my car is anything but stock from the front.
im not sure what to expect at the track. if I see an 11.80 ill be pretty fuckin happy. I have a whole new car to learn and may have some residual kinks to work out. it felt great today but I haven’t driven it in forever. hopefully o2s and hpfp hold. I don’t think I can beat FT though. he was what 11.2 or something. id like to do a cali trip this fall and get jhm to do a stage 2 install or maybe early next spring.

^interesting you can’t keep it on the RS4. I was able to modify mine and keep my fogs as I recall. But then I went to the dtm bumper which had no fogs.
apparently with the stage 2 pulley u can make it work but im happy as long as the lens is there. I just didn’t like the hole. its not symmetrical and I hate that.

He ran his car with the AMD kit. I think he said he was going to go back with an updated tune so I didn’t add him. Turns out he didn’t (or he didn’t post it). Perhaps that tune wasn’t so great. I will add his time. Was like 11.8 @ 119 or something
id be ecstatic if I beat 11.80!! u can bet ill be giving it everything shes got. but ya I paid less than 15k with the supercharger clutch and short shifter. ill add a lsd, boost gauge and diff mount and still be under 15.

yup cad was 11500ish with everything. that also included the ac lines, jhm cable, clutch, flywheel and short shifter shipped. but remember I ordered before the dollar went for a total shit so cad now would be more. just like the forgeline rims I wanted are now stupid money cad. I get a 900 usd rebate when I send my ac lines back to them which im going to use for more parts too.
im happy with the price, when u first pull it all out of the box its a shit ton of parts. plus anytime I needed anything jake was there to help right away. the customer service was excellent. the instructions were great too there was only a few things i wasn’t sure on and like i said jakes replies were almost instant when i had a question. thanks jake!

Great service is a huge plus.
Apr sells you a $18,000 kit then ignores you, blows you off, or tells you they can’t help (when your car won’t pass emissions or when it stalls whenever you come to a stop light lol)
AMD sells you a $15 000 kit then lies to you telling you the big kit goes 126 mph and makes 500…but when the first (and only) two customers test it they make 50 whp less and barely trap 120).
Jhm sells you an $8,000 kit and helps you through the entire process.
