I like older cars with soul, get the tech up and remove temptation. Rs7 u have to do triple digits to break a sweat, not quite as fun. More fun to drive. Slow car fast, then a fast car slow
It’s why I own a '68 Porsche 911 (not necessarily slow though ) It’s a 2400 lb. short wheel base go cart that is challenging to drive well at 8 or 9 tenths. There’s no way the S6 or any similar modern car would be anywhere near as fun to drive in everyday situations.
I like the V10 S6 because its a well-built, comfortable car that I find interesting and enjoyable for daily commuting. The expensive mods go to the “other” car that’s more deserving IMHO.
Finally got around to installing the tune and all I have to say is “this will be fun” initial impression is smooth shifts and continuous power parked it for a bit and punched it to get on the highway and it took me by surprise for sure !
that tune is the business… I wish I could flash back to stock and then back to tuned at least once more; it’d give a cleared picture of what the tune does and how driving behavior changes. I also wish I could change the shift points in the TCU. : /
Hey they both deserve love ;). Your second paragraph is spot on, that said if you do the minimal mods to the s6, it truly is truly how it should have come from the factory. That said I loved my last stock one with msds filtered and true 2.75 x pipe exhaust even with stock mufflers! The exhaust is a must if you ditch all else, less so on s8
Speaking of the tune I’ve noticed something, not sure If its the tune or maybe my injectors might be leaking. I noticed that shift from 1st to 2nd I reach some sort of fuel cut at the top of first during the shift then it goes into second this only happens if I’m hard on it… not sure also it is the TCS cutting fuel for traction.
The tune makes the injectors match modulation in pedal travel exactly apparently… especially in sport mode… for me, there’s a clear cut between 1st and 2nd when I’m at like 40% throttle that sounds amazing like you can here the pressure difference in the exhaust. but yeah, when track driving you notice it even more (especially in sport) where if you let off the throttle, you hear a clean cut in fuel delivery, or at least that’s what it sounds like to me (someone without any mechanical training).
Six6six thats a great explination. The JHM tune does exactly that. The injectors, camshafts, ignition and throttle body all work directly in line with the throttle in put so the result is full control. But what lots of people dont know or dont talk about is just how much work on the little things JHM has put into things like the transmission protection and the tighter control of the injectors to not just help keep the car more crisp and controled but it helps keep the transmission happy and safe along with the bennifit of using less wasted fuel.
