Can’t see the picture.

I can’t either. It was visible last night on a different computer but no longer. I bet it’s showing for you because it’s saved in your browser’s cache.

This is turning into a hangover thread…

I can see it in this post.

Really like Sailor Jerrys Rum with Mountain Dew.

Speaking of which, where has all the rum gone?

Any Cognac drinkers here? Close friend of mine got me into it a few years ago and now I can’t live without have a few glasses a couple of times a week. Tough finding a good selection over here in the midwest unfortunately.

I’m a Vodka guy. Really don’t drink any other liquor. Tito’s FTMFW - nothing like Texas vodka.

Vodka here as well. Kettle, Tito’s, or Stoli.

I basically never drink, thanks acid reflux. But when I do, it’s usually vodka. Grey Goose, Ciroc, or Kettle One.

^^I have that issue as well. But Nexium is over the counter now - it works.

I really don’t drink hard liquor for taste - just the buzz. So I always have mixers with vodka. I actually prefer wine if want something that tastes good.

I like how Tito’s markets their product as a gluten free vodka. Unsuspecting consumers (mostly chicks) think its the only one but in reality any corn or potato based vodkas are gluten free.

Yeah Nexium definitely works. But who wants to take a pill everyday for the rest of their life? I’m not entirely convinced it’s a real fix, more of a band aid that’ll cause more problems. Plus the doctor was very explicit about not drinking on Nexium when I got a prescription. Changing my diet with a decent amount of exercise works great for me. Carbs are what really hurt me. Just gets a little crazy paying to eat super healthy all the time.

Just don’t take Zantac when drinking… I’ve made this mistake quite a few times.

[quote]“The effect was striking,” says author Charles Lieber, MD. In a three-hour test period, conducted under conditions similar to social drinking, the study showed that ranitidine can increase blood alcohol content by 38%. Levels reached in the study exceeded the legal drinking limit – and the effects lasted up to two hours after drinking stopped.

Interesting! I used to take ranitidine frequently for heartburn, and never really noticed a difference in my inebriation. Haven’t taken it in years, though… (heartburn stopped about same time I dropped 20 lbs).

Beem, that Rittenhouse is a great whiskey for the money. I bought a couple bottles of it up in Chicago 2-3 years ago when it used to be $14/bottle lol.

I do agree with beem though, kinda surprised we don’t have a booze thread yet.

I’m a whiskey guy myself, but I enjoy anything tasty pretty much.

That Jeffersons is good. I don’t want to take the time to get all my whiskeys out, I also don’t want to admit or document owning that many different bottles lol.

I go on kicks though, it’s good sometimes to be on a first name basis with the local liquor store haha. I seek out the rare whiskeys though. But it’s becoming such a chore I’ve lost the enjoyment in it.

I’m a simple kind of man

Oh. . . I didn’t realize it was the ocean aged lol. I’ve heard horrible things haha. I personally haven’t had it, just going on random people’s comments. I’ll be interested to hear what u have to say.

Man, keeping bottles for a few years, impressive! I don’t have that much self control other than a few select bottles.

Euro, then gentleman jack is a good bottle, nothin wrong with it. Some of the single barrels are great, others just so-so. For that price also look into “town branch”, I like it a lot. There are actually a ton of great whiskeys around $30 bucks, but the Gentleman Jack is never a bad choice. You should try to make their “Lynchburg Lemonade” or “Velvet Elvis” sometime. They’re both great mixed signature drinks.

Single Barrel is pretty great. Me and a few of my Marine buddies a couple years ago bought a whole barrel…lol

I’ve yet to try the cinnamon shit, but the honey was ok.

I’ll keep that in mind, I’m definitely a whiskey fan, not much else.

What soda (pop for me)do you recommend for the Lyncburg. I know it’s lemon lime…Sprite? Sierra Mist?

Euro:
Yea, I’m not a big fan of the honey and other promotional shit. However at a bar last week I did try the Jack Fire, and while certainly not whiskey, I did like it a tad more than Fireball. That said I’m not a big one to enjoy shooting fireball all that much, but it sure seems like everyone else is lol.

Next time I’m looking around I’ll post some other suggestions. There are some GREAT options out there, but often just hard to find. If you EVER see "Elmer T Lee on the shelf, just buy it. Typically retails for $30-35.

And I think Sprite works fine. Can’t recall anything specific, I haven’t made it in a while, but sometimes you’ll find it at a bar around here, and often if Jack is sponsoring an event you’ll find them with one of their signature drinks premade.

Beem:
It’s actually even gotten difficult to find anything but the basic Jeffersons down here. I had a 10yr Rye I really liked from them, and now I haven’t seen one on a shelf in over a year.

That’s a pretty impressive scotch vertical you had there. It woulda be been awesome to do a tasting of all side by side. I haven’t even tried all the Macallan’s, but I’m a fan of all that I have tried. I enjoy scotch, but not as much as whiskey, and it’s not something I’m trying to push myself into lol. Good scotch is often on a completely different price point than good whiskey! Have you ever tried the Balvinie scotches? I have a 12yr that is nice and tried the 21yr once and it was phenomenal.

And yea, I’ve had those nights with high-proof whiskey that makes you regret loving the next day as well, much less drinking again anytime soon haha.
