Wow very excited please get us some teaser pics.
I will bug em for some.
Keaton further explained the car responded well to the ecu/tcu tunes. Said as best he can tell they got it close to the b6/7 s4 tcu tune feel. Said it feels confident without being too “bangy”. Pretty stoked!
Still need to inquire about if it will be possible to bump up boost a couple psi to account for the altitude. I think I know answer but we’ll see.
We need PICS !!! LOL
Looking forward to seeing this awesome machine
I know. I just don’t want to bother them too much but I am sure they won’t mind snapping a few.
A little update. Talked more with JHM about boost at elevation. They said they will give me a larger inlet pipe to help allow the blower to boost more at elevation. Did say to be mindful of sea level driving and not get too crazy like multiple back to back pulls or tracking the car at continuous high rpms but normal daily driving and the inevitable ocassional full throttle pulls will be fine. Just reminded me to be responsible with it as it won’t be “as safe”.
I appreciate them looking out for me and coming up with a solution to help combat the power loss at elevation. Pretty stoked!
Oh, and I asked for some progress pics. No guarantees though. ;);D
Good to see JHM helping you out.
Agreed!
And dont worry about pics. They’ll come when they come. No hurry
These types of projects just take a lot of time. And actually, it sounds as if yours is moving very quickly, considering it is the first time they’ve done an Allroad. It is going to be incredible
Heck ya. Been doing my best to just leave them be. It will be ready when it’s ready. Keeping telling myself that anyway. Ha!
Don’t listen to v8a6 get the pix lol.
It’s great to hear the project is moving along. It’s really cool to see jhm showing there commitment to the v8 community
R&D mock up complete. On to final install of my kit. Leaky valve covers need replaced, new poly snub mount, need to upgrade motor mounts (deciding between 034 density line or motorsport line). I likely will go with the motorsport line. Had them in b5 s4 and really liked them. But they are sig more money. But whats another $150, right.
Need to decide if I am ok with just piggies or need to go full 2.5" catless. And also if I will do the intake mani.
Input welcome and appreciated. A few pics from mock up…

Looking good man. Dru talked me into the 034 density mounts when he said they run them all the time and haven’t had a problem. Thought about doing the motorsports line but was a little worried about the extra NVH at the time. I forget, are you in Colorado? Would be cool to see this thing.
Thanks man. Flagstaff, AZ actually.
I had the motorsports line before and frankly did not experience any noticably additional nvh over the failed density lines that they replaced. I really liked them and that old b5 chasis felt really locked down with no slop.
I appreciate your insight and experiences.

Here is the break down.
Spend the money on the exhaust. There is big gains there. When you add the supercharger it’s even bigger of an improvement. One of the most important mods I would put it at a must do level.
The intake really helps the upper rpms that’s what they made it for. It’s a can do down the line mod where there aren’t really any exhaust systems for the Allroad so I would get it while you can.
Sounds like a plan, Justin. Exactly what we ended up doing. I know I’ve been beating dead horse with very much same questions. Really cant wait to drive it again.
Thinking about it more, I likely will do the intake mani shortly thereafter. Correct me if I am wrong but blowers dont see full power/boost until the upper rpms so that would make sense it would be a critical component to the overall package.
Very nice!
Thanks to JHM
In true audi form no modification process comes without setback. Apparently my ac compressor decided to take a shit. Lame unexpected, non performance adding expense…>:(
Heard about that yesterday. I took some photos of your car but wanted to see if you want me to email them to you or just throw them up?
Anything you guys can share would be great. It’s very exciting to see this come together. What a fun project.
I’m very interested in seeing how this all comes together. I don’t see this car being a huge 1/4 mile killer due to the limitations of the 5 speed to get out of the hole but rather an incredible experience for overall performance.
