C5 allroad

I didn’t want to say too much but I think the direction your going is the best one. The jhm nitrous kit is honestly second to none it has a ton of safety features it’s well built even distribution clean install. But if you don’t have all the supporting mods before that you become more dependent on the nitrous. I’m almost sure that jhm can fab you some dps. They make them for the S5 and new 3.0 s4. The supporting mods like the crank pulley intake manifold rotors and exhaust really help the car run to its potential.

If you can please have the jhm send you pictures of all the work and post it here. I would love to see everything. If your debating anything else feel free to pm me. I’m excited for your project. The v8 allroad is the sleeper car.

I sure hope the s/c kit can be fitted with minimal mod and effort. Know one thing, it will be a more fun car after whatever route we take. I guess my biggest concern is the 5-spd tip holding up and not necessarily going through the expense to find it has to be held back. Also, a good reason to forgo the nitrous and avoid peak tq spikes. Those are my thoughts anyway.

The 5 speed transmission is stronger then the 6 speed ones in the newer S4 like mine. I have only heard of one transmission issue with the 5 speed and that was with CV testing the transmission tune on his transmission. But that was self inflicted and admittedly part of testing.

I REALLY want to see your Allroad with a JHM Vortech on it. That would be soooo good.

Hoping you guys can make it happen.

Ha! Thanks man. I hope so too 8)

Dropped it off today. Jason seemed pretty stoked and pretty confident the sc will be a go.

Jason dropped his phone in engine bay on first inspection, too funny. Minor differences fron b6/7 4.2 mentioned were different air box (no biggie), return fuel rail system (seemed to approve and like it better) and generally a little more engine bay room front and rear. Should be fun!

As time passes awaiting sc install, i am second guessing not doing nitrous instead. Primarily due to spending much more than half my time at 7000 feet elevation. I am worried that the lower boost of the stg1 sc just wont be as much a power bump as maybe i would hope?

Thoughts, input, rest assured, cosign welcomed. Need to discuss more with jhm.

You are second guessing doing a JHM supercharged Allroad ?

JUST DO IT !!@^#% I have never heard ANYONE regret their JHM supercharger.

How many JHM supercharged cars have you seen for sale? I have only seen one, out of all the cars that they have installed them on. There might be a couple more that I missed. But the bottom line is, people absolutely love them.

Well yes and no. Yes, simply due to where I live and elevation robbing limited boost (reads power) I guess. No because I know I will love it. And lets not discount the 2nd options kick in the pants fun factor of jhm nitrous

Well think about it like this.

If you loose hp at 7000 feet your going to loose that no matter what your power adder is. I understand the chemical Air will be constant but you can set the car up for the blower for that altitude

I would say if your really worried ask Jhm for 1 more lb of boost to make up the loss due to the thinner air. You can do the math and calculate just how much the loss is at 7000 feet. Split the difference between what’s required for X amount of CFM at sea level and what would be needed to achieve that at 7000 feet. Splitting the difference should keep you safe when you come down to sea level.

You read my mind. Exactly the thought process I was having.

Really just talking out loud to get more input and understanding.

That’s always a great idea.

Slightest of updates. Apparently ecu tuning is complete. Tcu is moving along and then on to sc install. Also, another 2005 4.2 alpaca beige just like mine is in the shop getting similar treatment…not sure about if getting sc too but tuning and dps anyway.

Lol see what you started. The Allroad resale market just went up. That’s great I’m excited about this project. I actually looked to see if there were any 6 speed 4,2 allroad cars out there. I didn’t find any.

See if you can get the one other guy to sign up here. I’m guessing you don’t know him but it would be neat to hear his after impressions as well

unless you find a swapped one you wont find a 6mt. Didnt offer it from factory. Tip only on 4.2 ar.

Lol, I was surprised when they told me that other one was in shop too.

Good to know it was a auto only car.

Keaton updated me today. Ecu and tcu tuned, cool. Said it should be ready for mockup and on a lift today. Pretty excited to get her back.
