Again less is more, my car and lotr were fast with minimal mods and no weight reduction. Sky is doing all this shit with REVO on his car with a plethora of mods and it is still slow.
Made 8 runs, file number four on the SDS box. For 100 octane or higher. Several runs I had short shifting problems, LC failed or poor operator technique. I also think I let up on the gas pedal too soon for the trap lights? Regardless, I’ll try again soon.
I’m ont replying to you because you don’t listen. This is for the forum, to clear up your misinformation
you went 12.67@107 with APR
you then added
race gas vs. pump gas
meth vs no meth
DSG tune and a 7000 RPM redline vs no DSG tune and stock 6200 RPM redline
300 feet of density altitude vs. 2500 feet of density altitude
Most cars achieve the delta you did with just putting race gas in…let alone all the other shit you did. Basically you’re a commercial for APR and for avoiding REVO.
In fairness, I’m not sure we know what the hell skywagon did with the APR tune. Did he run the APR race tune, did he hit the brakes on the 1/4 mile passes, was he shifting in manual mode…who the hell knows…
It was a 8 week long Hunter S. Thompson bender comprised of multi-day hotel stays, dyno sheets that were never saved, tunes that never “took”, emails back and forth with Arin, a bunch of people yelling on the internet…all fueled by APR RAGE, the desire for more air and enough cash to buy a second S4.
I would if I were you. You are throwing money at the car like there is no tomorrow and you are make marginal if not any gains at all. You are pissing into the wind.
Here I sit maintaining my demeanor trying to be a gentlemen offering all the info you ask for yet all I get is grief. I’ll write about this again when I break 11 seconds.
I think everyone appreciates you providing the info, and much respect for staying above the fray. I think most people’s issue comes from how you were quick to call out APR for terrible performance, but accepting what revo is giving you now. You have to acknowledge that you are running the REVO file in good conditions, while the APR runs were done in worse conditions.
However, the points that: (1) you now have a DSG tune, (2) you have a switchable tune…both combine to give you more features with your tune. So if you’re happy with this, then I don’t think anyone has an issue with you being content. Keep working at it and I’m sure you’ll get into the 11’s.
It’s like the Emperor’s New Clothes. Just to beat it to death:
APR run: 12.67
DA: June in North Carolina
Tune: 93
Mods: Headers, ECU, Pulley, Intake, Exhaust, headers
REVO run: 12.2
DA: November in North Carolina
Tune: 100
Mods: All mentioned plus Meth Injection and custom Aerospace Ram Air Intake
I still can’t believe there was all that rhetoric going on in the summer over relatively normal times and now there is rejoicing for gaining .4 seconds with completely different variables. Sky, you were a broken record, slandering the company with a littany of posts, declaring things as if they were undoubtedly verified. But the fact is you really don’t understand how weather affects performance. And a DA calculator is just that. It doesn’t replace common sense, which is June in the south is a performance killer.
When you criticized my 0-60 time of 3.57, you couldn’t believe the car could be that fast. But in the summer (in the Northeast no less) I couldn’t crack 4.5. If I had run the 1/4 mile in the summer I probably would’ve posted a 12.4-12.6 at night if I was lucky.
So we love following these posts of false logic and flawed beliefs but sometimes it gets frustrating. You’d make a terrible scientist, because you are too impetuous to verify your own hypotheses.
The funny thing is I have GIAC, but you slandered APR so much I can’t help to speak about it. Whatever kind of company they are, your attacks were completely unfounded because you just made up your own facts using your flawed, capricious reasoning.
That being said, what are you trying to prove? You ran a 12.2 in four door sedan. That’s wicked fast. Did you think you could just throw enough money around and buy yourself the fastest S4? Sometimes money doesn’t buy everything, because it certainly looks like it didn’t buy you any common sense.
