lol

hahahaha

Since he has that 12" wide tire in the rear, I’d run it a high enough pressure for it not to completely deflect like a wet lasagna noodle.

Every BMW with a staggered setup runs higher PSI rear than front for the same reason. He’s staggered and should do this also.

If you really want to get into the 11s, I would try a different wheel/tire combo just to rule it out

Jeez… Please listen to Saki and Primetime. That 1.69 60’ is good enough. If there is an issue, it goes beyond wheel spin. That trap speed is what I was doing on my 12.6 runs. There is either something with you car on the upper end, or something is up with the track. Overall ET is not bad.

My question is…did you only run once? Posting your best slip does nothing for us. How was your car on all the other runs?

Listen to the best of the best. If you take any advice other thread prime or saki your shooting yourself in the foot. You took the advice you got on AR and look how far it got you.

They are dead on with the spinning. Listen to most of the fastest b8 times and you hear a little spinning with all the fast cars. Spinning doesn’t stop the car from acceleration the car is still accelerating usually spinning helps pick up mph because it helps propell the car faster when the cars acceleration catches up with the wheel speed. Did you get any in car videos or out of car videos. Lookin at your times there isn’t any indication of a hurt 60’

But once again the track visit seems to show a weak spot in the REVO tuning. If you wheel spun enough to impact anything it should have helped Impact your mph for the better. Do you have any logs of the car during any of the runs.

I’ll be able to get you guys Revo 1+ logs soon. Griffin has a really nice Mustang dyno in a custom built room with 12" insulated walls and a ventilation fan fit for a meth super lab. They had it calibrated to read within 0.5% of 3 other Mustang dyno’s in the NorCal area. It actually reads the most conservative as it’s the latest revision of the equipment.

Anyway, I have a laundry list of crap for them to do to the car and we ran out of time last Friday night. The car is going back this week to mount the Brembo’s, the RS5 rear rotors, and to readjust the JRZ shocks. If there’s time you’ll have logs to analyze. I wouldn’t even know what I was looking at.

Gents,
I never wrote anything about speed. We all know ET is what matters in a 1/4 mile. With no wheel spin and the stars aligned zero wheel spin causes a brutal launch. With wheel spin it is nowhere near as quick. Some write my 60 foot times are great, they’d be better with zero spin…period! Yes, I am running meth with race gas, should I turn it off? My best time was after the sun had been on the track all afternoon. Temps at night are in the 30’s. Temp at my best run was 57F, obviously track got a little warmer. If the REVO tune is at fault so be it. My best with APR was .6 of a second slower. Nearest GIAC dealer is over six hours away. Thanks

No, I did nine runs.

You aren’t listening…again. You are not losing time the FIRST HALF of the track, which has already been pointed out and you are not spinning tires the second half of the track to lose time.

Did you make sure to keep the sknny pedal down through the traps?

I think there is a GIAC dealer in Charleston, SC

Can you post all of your times? It will show how consistent the car was running (good/bad)

This “wheel spin” discussion is nonsense. Rather than a deficiency with the REVO tune, could be excess methanol spraying is slowing him down a hair . . . . :-\

The wheel spin was so bad it caused short shifting which I overcame by locking the trasmission in 1st gear until it upshifted to second and then going sport. Revo DSG tune will upshift automatically 1st to 2nd despite being locked in manual at about 7000 RPM

1.85 60 ft 12.44ET 111.66 MPH
1.87 12.43 112.23
1.68 12.09 112.46
1.71 12.13 113.01
1.68 112.11 111.69
1.69 12.07 112.19
1.71 12.19 112.13
1.84 12.41 112.01
1.82 12.78 103.21

I’d greatly appreciate it if you gents did not get pissy with me! It’s counter productive. If you insist on saying wheel spin makes no difference you are dead wrong.
Thanks

Ugh… nobody is saying wheelspin makes no difference. Wheel spin is not the reason you didn’t break into the 11’s. I believe some stage 1 cars have better traps than you. The fastest of the fast S4s run 60’ times similar to yours and they trap much higher.

That small amount of “wheelspin” in your 12.07 run is not the issue. Your traps are LOW. Listen to the knowledgeable guys on here; they are trying to help you.

Sky, you are telling a group of experts, not just 1 person, that they are all wrong and you are right. You’re almost at the record for fastest 60ft time. Please explain why tire spin is killing you in the ET but it didn’t kill the ET for the record time? If you keep coming here for help and telling the guys that are trying to help they are wrong, I think it’s normal that they get a little frustrated(pissy) with you.

If I had no wheel spin my 60 foot times would be even better! Can we agree on that? Maybe I could set a record for the 60 feet? However, that’s not my goal. Under 11 seconds is!

I’m pretty much done caring about anything he posts because he won’t help himself or listen.

So I’ll just post data and facts:
Almost EVERYONE with a tune and minor mods is trapping higher than you Skywagon

Below is Auditude’s time on Revo (stage1 I assume). He has an intake, catback, and had a 1.82 60’. If he improved his 60 to match yours he would be very close to your ET.

Auditude2.0t B8 S4 3.0T Auto 93 REVO stock DPs/AWE exhaust 12.27 112.11 1.82 Roc Euro intake

It’s not “a small amount of wheel spin” It’s a lot!!! I was there.

Sky, can you edit your post where you displayed your 1/4 ET results and include the 1/8th mile ET and mph?
