So according to all of you I should run out and buy GIAC tune. $2600 and three days on the road. No there is no GIAC dealer in Charleston. The closest to me is 6.5 hours away in Asheville NC. I will turn off the meth. The hole in the hood is fine, despite your childish flaming. It’s my car, I’ll drive it off a cliff if I want. The fine tread on my Michelin pilot SS’s is almost gone, 11k on them. I think that contributed to my wheel spin. I’ll put on new tires on before my next 1/4 mile test, January.
Merry Christmas to all.
Several people heeded warning with Revo. If I recall correctly you were disappointed you weren’t getting all of your RPM range with APR and didn’t want to go to GIAC, due to distance, so you chose REVO. When you ran with REVO the first time out there really wasn’t an improvement over the APR tune/run (having known you hit the brakes running through the traps).
You continued the quest for power and/or to be faster (as would most of us), but with all due respect if you had some reluctance listening/trusting the fastest guys here on AR all you had to do was confirm it with some checking for yourself. Please take a look at the quarter mile list [filter B8 S4, REVO] and you will notice that nearly all of the fastest REVO tuned cars are trapping the same speed with the exception of 1 (a manual).
If you want to see where the auto B8 S4 REVO tunes fall on that list (by mph) they start at #46. The significance of that run is the car’s only mods were LW wheels and trapped 113.8 mph on regular pump gas. REVO may have changed up their tuning ( I don’t know), but if you were looking for 11’s there are some cars with different tunes already there.
I had asked previously to plot your 1/8 mile ET and traps. The reason being is to see where your gaining/losing on the 1320. In fact all of the 1/4 parameters are good for review and comparison.
With the money you’ve spent already and the time you’ve put into the car 6.5 hrs away doesn’t seem much from meeting your goals.
All aside, I agree on disabling the meth next time out and have yourself a good holiday.
The REVO tune for the B8.5s had to be done specifically for each car. I dropped .6 of a second switching from APR to REVO. If REVO is the problem I’m stuck. Some day I may switch but not now unless some of you gents want to send me some money via Pay Pal? Despite asking that my e-mail be removed from my posting it’s still there. However, management can find the time to lower my rating…thanks much.
Well apparently we’re all “marginally retarded”… Nice way to describe people by the way : Gotta love vendorzine… Maybe it’s time I go Crew on them with some emails I have from Revo employees… lol
Sky, What’s your paypal? How much do we need to contribute… I’m game… Also, “management” doesn’t have anything to do with your Karma it’s the other members… You ask questions, we answer, you disagree and bitch about our answers, then ask again… It’s kind of a vicous circle…
He hasn’t focused on anything other than that this whole time. Someone said to eliminate the variables…close the hole (refused), normalise the octane (refused, but now it looks like he may do so) and ignore the wheelspin because it was so small a factor, it’s not worth mentioning (refused)
The pigheadedness is strong with this one. Maybe the strongest ever.
It reminds me of when westwest went and ran shit times at Sacramento…then rebuffed everyone’s input and assumed his times were great and everyone else’s were unreasonable.
I guess when I grow up I’ll get my e-mail address removed and be able to grade my fellow posters? My e-mail is my paypal account, I need $2600 for the tune, two nights in a hotel and fuel…$3500 should cover everything. Thanks
Saki, that’s bullshit. I don’t think the hole makes a bit of difference but will plug it, I’ll turn off the meth, I’m running pure meth, too. I will put new tires on as well. With all your HP maybe you can get the powers at be to remove my e-mail from this site? Thanks
We’ve been through this. everyone here knows you did not gain 6 tenths with revo. There were about 5 factors that contributed. We determined that there was actually very little difference between your revo and APR times.
