Control Arm kits S6

That can be one of the hard things when it comes to suspension parts. The rubber incerts are the only thing that seem to fail. Also the kits all need to look the same as they can only go on one way and only be formed one way. Good to know there are more good reports from relyable parts.

welcome purple.

Just got my Meyle HD kit in, how long did it take you guys to replace them?

I had them replaced along with the shocks and springs all round at a garage and they took 8 hrs whilst I waited.

If your doing this yourself and its your first time and your just doing the fronts it should be 6 to 8 hours depending on if you have all the tools longer if you dont have the right tools.

Took me about 4 hours on the first side and about 2 hours on the other side. Always quicker after you learn the process, tools necessary and the little traps. Not a bad job.

Good work fella!! Any pics?

So guys just thought I’d let you know don’t let Audi diagnosis your car always look yourself

Not only are my lowers gone but my uppers and CV boots are gone. So basically my entire front suspension minus the struts were gone.

Just thought you all would like to see whar mine looked like when I replaced them

How many miles were on them?

The funny think is because the S6 is so heavy and so much stress on the suspension components especially the control arms, this becomes almost a major service item of you want your car to handle tip top. I know the upper control Adam went bad for me at 50k miles. Funny thing though is it is usually the bushing connected to the control arm that goes bad and the actual control arm itself is in decent shape. But when you are in there it’s easier to just replace the whole thing as trying to swap a bushing in is almost impossible.

Pay to play but imo, every 50k is recommend doing this if you want the car running tip top handling wise. Unless someone can prove some of these aftermarket kits last any longer.

I’d love to get this kit and at this price, but I can’ find that vendor  . I see it for ~$650 free shipping on Ebay.

I found a set of Meyle HD locally for a good price, i think i need to add this to the maint list, i think mine are slowly getting worse. Would worn, ripped bushings on the control arms cause the alignment to be thrown out?

Ya, my allignment was all out of whack from bad control arms. Steering wheel was pretty much at the 2 o’clock position when driving straight. Seems to be a common issue

It is. This is very normal. Ripped bushings would need to be really bad but they do effect a lot in the suspension.
