Cory's B8 Avant.

That’s fun, good stuff cory!

Wow that’s a clean install.

what are those rails you have back there? silver ones. I don’t have those.

Officially, I believe Audi calls it the “load securing system”.

It works with that telescoping aluminum bar (along the back), the expandable strap (on the side) and moveable tie-downs to keep “stuff” from moving around. It was never available in NA. I practically stole it off of eBay.de and a friend in Germany shipped it for me. I’m not sure why it never was spec’d here but it’s quite handy.

^^ They came in the C6 wagon IIRC

Yeah, could very well be…I meant that it was never offered on NA B8 Avant’s.

No worries, just throwing out random facts lol

For anyone interested, I created a DIY today on setting up data tethering (to your mobile) on the 3G+ MMI system, as well activating the WAP for systems that have it hidden/disabled from the factory:

Let me know if you have questions.

First B8 A4 into the 12’s?
12.87@105
DA was ~ -500
There was about a 15km/h straight head wind
APR K04 V2 93 tune with pump gas
3/4 tank of gas (DOH!)

Lots of other 12.88 and 12.89’s to back it up…top trap of the day was 106.5.

Must be.

You’re quicker (but not faster) than the vast GT turbo B7 (although Mike tuned it so…)

Faster than any B7 a4. Must be fastest B8.

You sure it was 15? those flags were ripping!

Awesome result. Post the time slips. Same goes for AZ.

Very sick time, first time breaking into 12s for you right?

Dude right on!

Sent from my S5

Thanks guys. I was shocked when the time keeper gave me the slip. It didn’t feel very fast…pretty smooth.

Yes, I went 13.01 at the end of last season. This was the first time out this season.

It’s official…air ride gives you a 1/10 or so

I’m not sure what the wind was, 15 was a guess and perhaps a bad one. It was certainly very gusty throughout the day.

Time slip added. The other is when I lined-up against Axel. Interesting data. He had a better 60’, lost a bunch of time to the 1/8 mile and then made it back (as you would expect). Seems like the tune is certainly holding his car back in the first half though.

His tune is protecting the car for sure and if anything is wrong it will hold it back. As you would want it to.

Congratulations cory_can. A great build done right!

Thanks man, I appreciate it.

It’s great to be in such a data driven little group here in Ontario. Makes comparisons very easy. Although I will have considerable concern lining up next to you, it will be interesting and a lot of fun!

Lining up from a dig Cory does very well about half the time and the other half his car /trans holds it back a little. He seemed to run either 12.8, 13.0 or 13.2.

Adrian if you nail it you should have him. If you don’t, he might catch you!

Well hopefully I’ll be at the saki end of stock times and not the mickf end at 13 plus
