cylinder count dropping

Here’s something you can build to.

http://www.europeancarweb.com/featuredcars/1407_2012_volkswagen_golf_r

Its a CPO, so no building for a while longer. Don’t really care too much about bench racing, not a B5 S4 owner afterall. The car I ‘raced’ thought he could sneak by and cut me off shortly after a light.

Someone asked for a Golf R forum… and ye shall receive! VWrevolution lol

now we just need a CV Golf R tune

ooooh… that car is already too fast lol, if it goes any faster you might just find yourself in 1988

Get me a screen short of your ECU Id in Vag-com. I have already made a few good tunes for the R and the GTI. You know I’ll take care of you and I also need to look out for Meistah. He was on my list. Now that APR has the Me17 port flash this should be easier to do. The VW stuff is nice but, no thanks. This would be just for you guys.

The R is MED 9.1 so it should be even easier.

Thanks crew, I did make that sound weird didn’t I. I was speaking more in terms of not stepping on toes. With the new system up and them moving on they tend to care less about older platforms or in this instance older systems. I don’t mean care less in a fashion where they don’t still care but, I think you get the point. Beem, I assume you have a 1k8 ECU. let me know. I’ll see what I can do.

Beem, we can do what I did to Chris’s GTI, I have a nice 02E3 tune as well :stuck_out_tongue:

TBH, I doubt they give a damn anymore. It shows in the lack of support and updates for those older platforms. Even the MED17 files aren’t being updated other than the recent updates to a terrible K04 file.

Ready when you are

so I decided to give the Blendmount Radar detector mount a try, my Escort 8500 suction cups finally died

if anyone wants one, us the link below, 12.5% off

That looks slick beem.

got some Nokian Hakka 8’s on the stock wheels, awesome grip in the snow. they’ve gotta come off by 04/15, which means I’ll be doing some massaging of the fenders for these

also picked up a P3 gauge, gonna try to get that in this weekend

BTW - I had the blendmount in my STi for a few years. Worked great. I’m just using the Escort suction cups for the time being in the RS4. Blendmount didn’t have an Audi compatible rearview mount at the time, so I bought a 12pack of UV protected suction cups off ebay that work perfect. They last about a year each…

nice, good to hear there is a good option. the temperature swings caused issues here, 70* one afternoon and 20* the next morning always caused it to fall off

Got the P3 gauge thingermabobber installed. Cool little device, gotta figure out a boost tap for it now.

whoops, forgot to update this

P3 is in

double apex USB charger is in, very slick and easy install

added the blend mount conduit, needed some trimming to fit right

changed the oil for the first time (out of factory service period finally), VW did a great job designing things to make for a clean job. gonna get the ECS filter housing for the next oil change

going to get tint as soon as tint king’s Mk5/6 master gets back, apparently one of the few guys who can do the rear windows with one sheet. gonna go with F1 ceramic

tried to fit the SSRs, not even fucking close, tons of mexi-poke. got some 235/45/17 PSS’s. need to get them mounted soon as 4/15 is the cut off date for studded tires

ordered some fancy blue chrome tuner lugs for the stud conversion as I did not have cone seat lug nuts

hoping to find some yakima whispbars

just rolled 37k miles, another 26k before I can add fun parts, though depending on the cost of fuel I may be tempted to look for an RS4 by then

Now that’s an update you got to live and add in the possible teaser it’s even better.

You still have those awesome lightweight SSRs! From the C5, right? Nice! I love those wheels.

So got the SSRs on and did the 034 stud conversion at the same time. The 235/45/17 on a 8.5" wheel seems to be as big as you can go on an otherwise stock car, driven about 500 miles and had 2 small rubs from going over choppy pavement
