I myself drive an Audi and it is really nice to be on an Audi forum. In the past, I was a vendor on E90Post, Gencoupe forum, and now MBWorld. I always wanted to become a vendor on Audizine, but for some reason, they just don’t reply to me haha…
Anyways! Please feel free to ask any questions you guys have with the device. We have videos to help our viewers/customers with hardwire installation as well. Please check our youtube channel for review of our dashcams as well: http://www.youtube.com/user/blackboxmycardotcom?feature=mhee

The footage on YouTube from people who are using the cameras shows them to be insanely good quality video
Questions
1 what does 16GB exp to 16GB mean?
2 are they GRove or saved to flash card?
3 on the 49ers for example, how much space does 1 minute take up in mb
4 what happens when the memory gets full?
5 do the files break up when you turn the car off? Would suck if you got into an accident not your fault and had video evidence to that effect, but when you turn it over in disclosure, they see you were speeding ten minutes earlier.
approx 8gb = 1 day of footage. when the memory is full it overwrites from the beginning.
The files break up when you are parked/car is off, come back on if the motion sensor is triggered. For an accident, it will make a clip starting 5 seconds prior to the collision sensor being triggered.
Wouldn’t you also have a selectable increment for file breaks? Both of my old cameras allow for this. 1min, 2min, 5min, 10min files. Each time it reaches whichever time you selected, a new file is created. This makes each file way more manageable. I’d be surprised if the Blackvue didn’t allow for this. It’s pretty standard.
Let’s you control the size and also how much size of each type of video you wish to keep. For example you can choose to keep more allocation for “event” videos and less for just normal recording. I currently have it set for more space for parking and event and when I go to the track I set it to have equal space for everything.
I can post a screen shot of the settings when I’m home if you’d like, unless someone else does it before
I am sorry guys I m gonna have to learn how to use multi quote on this forum Here is my answer to your questions.
1 what does 16GB exp to 16GB mean?
It comes with 16GB SD memory card. However, you can expand it upto 32GB by purchasing one from futureshop/best buy. DR380G comes with 8GB.
2 are they GRove or saved to flash card?
The videos will be saved onto the SD memory card and it will loop itself over and over. You do not have to delete videos.
3 on the 49ers for example, how much space does 1 minute take up in mb
hmm… good question. To be honest, I dont know. 16GB would last for 7-8 hours with 1080P Full HD quality at 30fps. I would recommend putting a 32GB if you want to be safe with all the parking mode videos.
4 what happens when the memory gets full?
It will loop itself over and over You dont have to delete your videos!
5 do the files break up when you turn the car off? Would suck if you got into an accident not your fault and had video evidence to that effect, but when you turn it over in disclosure, they see you were speeding ten minutes earlier.
Yes and no. It depends if you hardwired your unit or not. If the power gets cut off, the device will shut itself down. However, if your device is hardwired with power kit, you will still be able to record your video even when your car is off.
Good thing you pointed out about the speeding. That is why Finevu does not come standard with GPS. I tell all my customers about the pros and cons of using GPS. GPS system will record your speed onto the video file. Unless you are driving at legal speed limit (50km/h in BC) I wouldnt recommend it to be honest.

you are exactly right! Thanks for clarification
CR500HD runs on normal mode with 167mA (normally 300mA~500mA from other blackboxes) and there isn’t specific number on parking mode draw on battery power. However, it only gets turned on/off with motion detection.
This GB will take off when we reach 20+ people. Finevu CR500HD just launched last week and it is considered the best full hd dash cam in the market at the moment. Please feel free to let us know if you guys have any questions!
