Datadatum's RS4 log

Congrats…homo

Lighten up, Francis.

It’s all in good fun.

It’s in good fun when you have over 2000 posts ;D

I’m not really a post whore though and I remember seeing guys with thousands of posts and think “wow, that’s crazy”

It’s my karma that give me a chubby…lol

I wasn’t trying to imply you were. It was just comical. I actually very much enjoy your posts. I like the no nonsense style. If you reverse your karma you have mine.

Back on topic. Speaking of intake spacers. I went to help my friends wife check her oil. I put my hand on the intake manifold as I grabbed for the dip stick. I almost burnt my hand. When checking my oil after a good drive my intake was incredibly cool in comparison.

Child’s play.

The intake spacers are pretty amazing and a great upgrade for overall engine health and performance.

My IM is hot as hell after a 15 minute drive. Looking forward to installing these with my upcoming CC.

I plan to do the same…

Lol

me too. Now that mistro is a carbon clean manifold removal expert we should have him do ours bango

No kidding. I can probably throw him some Krispy Kreme to do my exhaust too lololol

Free Krispy Kreme tomorrow by the way. Apparently you can just walk in and they’ll give you a free one.

free is always good

JHM DPs arrived today. They look great, except for a ding on one of the bungs. Hopefully not a problem.

What is done to your car then as it currently sits? Do a new log now that you’re tuned.

I assume the question is specific to the powertrain. Just the JHM tune, at present.

500+ miles into the new tune, the car isn’t quite as peppy as when first installed, but the knock is gone. The hard “edge” of throttle blips that I liked so much when downshifting seems to have softened a bit. Still definitely better than pre-tune. It doesn’t help that every day is over 90°F, freaking hot here in Florida.

On the docket:

  • CC (~20k miles since the last one)
  • intake spacers (sitting on my shelf)
  • oil heater bypass (sitting on my shelf)
  • JHM catted DPs w/ 2.5" reducer (sitting on my shelf)

I’ll be getting a quote on the CC, and see if my indy mechanic can do all of the above at once.

As for logging - yes, I’ve taken a few, and have been meaning to post. Thanks for the reminder.

Installing DPs and spacers tomorrow! ;D

Carbon clean as well.

Hopefully install goes perfect…

Nice, you’ll feel a decent bump from those items.
