Don’t the magazines tend to use pbox/vbox 1/4 mile times? Or did I miss the part in here stating which dragstrip they went to?
It was at Fontana raceway which is now a closed down quarter mile track. Fontana speedway is still open they just closed down the drags.
Magazines tend to use Vbox full kit with laptop for full instrumented tests, and maybe a pbox for a ‘first drive’ although they rarely release performance data from a first drive. Why? A first drive review in a magazine is always held at a manufacturer sponsored product launch boondoggle at some luxury resort somewhere warm. Spain, Monaco, Italian Riviera, Monterrey Peninsula etc. The First Drive reviews are always glowing ass-kissing efforts where they just regurgitate manufacturers estimates for performance and say how great the car is.
Then on the instrumented review back in America (for the major magazines who get loaner cars) they strap the vbox on and tell the truth.
