DSG tune from GIAC...

It is by no means sluggish even stock…

edited. Are you agreeing with him and his assessment that it’s sluggish stock and dynamic and spirited when GIAC DSG flashed? As I said, I think the performance data shows that stock trans tune, the DSG car does just fine.

The car in stock form was far from sluggish and the DSG tranny is great in stock form.

Having been stock, then GIAC Stage 1, then GIAC Stage 2, and then getting the DSG flash, all I know is that the DSG tune compliments Stage2 very well and the car really comes to life. I have driven an APR Stg2 S4 and my butt dyno can tell you the GIAC feels like it pulls harder. I’m not talking numbers here, just how the car drives…

Having just AutoX mine last week with Stg 1 and TCU tune from GIAC (intake and exhaust as well) I can say that the launch doesn’t help (faster take off but not controlled enough to make a good impact on an AutoX course if its set up properly). Then you get into the increased redline, which isn’t realized at all in first gear really and just barely in 2nd. So for me the tune didn’t make a big impact during AutoX (all thought I did set a new record at the track even besting a few M3’s, RS5 cabrio and a Boxer S- new body style) for that particular event & won a free audi folding chair and hat and polo shirt! ON the track again the launch doesn’t come into play but the redline being raised (B8.5) definitely helped as did the adjustments to the car holding gears longer and my butt dyno telling me it was grabbing gears faster.

I havent taken it to the strip yet but plan on doing so soon now that the temps have started to drop. If work allows I should be there in early October.

Ok… So your a b8.5… I think the dsg tune is much more critical on them as a result of the gear ratio and programming changes… Wouldn’t expect much at auto x because you’re in 1 to 2 gears all the time… You’ll notice it more at the strip, track, and street… Looking forward to seeing what you run… Can you do some passes with and some w/o launch control? Hopefully, you can make it when the others from here go…

Will do, I should have a few GoPro’s (inside and out) as well as some time slips on different passes (launch vs no launch vs M)

Here is a video from the AutoX event, broke the course record on the prior lap for production cars and Owner Events (besting the likes of M3s as you can here the track official state) and then bested my own time and got into upper 24s.

That’s a great looking AutoX run! What suspension mods do you have (if any)?

Nice looking wheels, btw. I’m getting a set of for next summer and strongly considering the CF5Vs.

Thanks, AluKruz and H&R OE, thats it for now. Going to purchase a set of PSS10s once the upcoming Chicago winter passes and I pay off the wedding ring I got suckered into buying (albeit with a great girl who takes car of me and I needed to lock down after getting yelled at by all my friends).
