It’s awesome to watch Jspazz degenerate into a 1/4 mile list hater just to spite this site and our database (‘stupid spreadsheet’ lol).

Reality is nobody is talking about the 1/4 mile as ‘fun’. We’re talking about it as an acceleration benchmark to compare cars. You are trying to say it’s more fun to be slow and have bigger MPH. That’s great. The list isn’t a measure of what is the most fun. It is a good measure of how one B8 S4 does vs. another B8 S4 with various mods. Throwing Ferraris and whatever else into the mix is great for your ego, however take note…the list is for Audis only.

The only reason people repeatedly ask paper for a timeslip is because he talks MAD shit about just about everyone and everything he can, along with boasting of basically ridiculous dyno numbers without the context that they’re effectively USELESS for comparing vs. other cars. So, step up and run the performance test that the B8 platform has embraced as the ultimate measurement.

As for jspazz , the pattern is pure quattrofail road-race-superstar. Maybe those guys would enjoy hearing your fast and furious jokes. That’s what just about everyone says when exasperated and they have no answer for the simple fact that it’s the best overall performance test benchmark. They make fun and call names. It’s also known as intellectual submission.

The whole argument stemmed over the B7 RS4 and B8 S4 and how they responded to mods. I understand shift points will be different in every gear because of gear ratios, but I have seen plenty of arguments for “always shift at redline” vs " shift right after power starts to fall" so that the up shift will drop the rpms and put you right back into the peak power of your engine. No one is ever completely right and I’m sure there are different techniques for different types of racing.

Paper save the ridiculing of the 1/4 mile for after you actually make some passes, but then again if your times are record breakers you’ll promote the shit out of it! Funny…just like AMD will do with the RS4.

when have I ever ridiculed the quarter mile? If I had a strip by my house I would go there this weekend. Im always made out to be a bad guy, but just cause your a bad guy, doesn’t mean your a BAD GUY!

I went with the Ferrari to promote the B8 platform, I never made a secret of that…would have been nice to have an outside video. I was pretty sure bear would be quicker on race, but on pump even, on a hot day, that was awesome. And yes it was awesome fun.

There really is no argument, its pretty simple… Even in my 2.0T days where power dramatically drops off after 5500 rpm… the car makes more power to the wheels at redline in 2nd gear than it would “in the sweetspot” in 3rd gear… I get the argument and I’ve heard it a million times… it stems from a misconception.

Wanted to add this little tidbit:

“Torque output from the transmission is a simple function of power input to the transmission (engine power output) and transmission gearing. If you graph torque output from the transmission vs. engine RPM, for each gear, you’ll often find that at redline the torque value is higher than at ANY RPM in the next gear. If you see this pattern it means shift at the redline, always.”

Look man I’m just trying to have a good time whether it is in life or online on the forums. I didn’t get my car to promote Eurocode or try to sell people parts. I got my car cause I got in a career that I’m doing really well in and have always been into Audis since I was 15, I had driven a tuned S4 on race gas and told myself I wouldn’t be satisfied with anything less, even that seemed a little slow( I was otherwise going to get an A5 2.0T) and I wanted a manual which meant in LA I had to order one, and I figured since I’m ordering a car why not get it signal green, it will help with getting the bitches.

I really never really even thought of going to a dragstrip till I joined this site and you douches kept hounding me about running my car, which If I had I’m sure I would not have gotten any killer times because all of my clutches about to now have sucked balls. I don’t really have any animosity with anyone on here since I’ve never met any of you. Now my car seems to be able to handle the power and in a couple of days I think I’ll be comfortable doing some practices launches and see if it is in any shape to go to a dragstrip 400 miles away from my house and be drivable enough to go to Las Vegas and back to La. Don’t worry I’ll hit the strip and drive the shit out of my car very soon.

Personally I don’t care if you go to the strip. Its really fucking far. That would be like me going to Quebec City to go to the strip… And I wouldn’t.

I think it would be cool for the platform to get data on your car. Hell primetime has asked you for logs eleventeeen times.

If you do go, don’t go to Vegas cut you will run 12.6 and perpetuate the thoughts that headers do nothing. Go to Sacramento.

Gigggdy, Gigggdy, Gigggdy… This car is about to get much quicker and faster… new blower and dsg tune… Looks like I may become a GIAC customer soon, unless HPA ever releases their tune or APR is doing one…

So currently doing 1.62 60’s on race launching off idle… Wonder what they will be with this 4K launch? 1.55-1.60 with current blower and maybe 1.50-1.55 with the new blower…

they may have. I think they would disclose it though wouldn’t they? Maybe I am too trusting of the big companies but to me reputation risk is far bigger than the potential gain of showing a slightly better time
