Sounds good though. All rs4s sound good other than the raspy Milltek cars when the sound over modulates because of a cheap microphone.
I don’t think I have heard a worse exhaust video than this one. They need to redo that somewhere more controlled i.e. where you can go wot with without lifting constantly and without squealing tires and where there are no motorcycles lol.

Lol I made an awesome exhaust video of my car with right before I had the stock system put on so I know damn well what it sounded like. RS4’s have a different tone anyways
Is it just me or does the video look sped up by like 5-10%?? Probably just me…still, looks a little weird…
As for the video of sound, why can’t they simply get a go pro attached to the trunk?
GoPro audio sucks. I guess you can use an external mic, but the one that I got for mine (sony) is ultra insensitive. Everything turns out way too quiet, unless the source of audio is 3" from the mic.

last night they went out and shot more video and will try the go pro as well…to get a better understanding of how it sounds.
it does sound great to me from what i can hear but it will be nice to hear a better quality video.
I’d rather hear it with a couple of other RS4s side by side, with the flybys, revs in neutral, launch etc. done for all of them to get a feel for the differences. None of it matters till you’re in person anyway.
Stock, milltek catback, JHM, GMG, etc. if they can. Some of the B8 S4 guys did this last year or in 2010…made a great comparo video with the 3-4 B8 S4 options + stock.
Willl allow people to compare. That might not be such great marketing in case someone likes the competition better, but would sure help guys like us who are watching these companies make products.
Might have to wait for a customer to do that comparison with some friends. Mick seems a likely candidate since he is getting the exhaust soon enough, and has local RS4 guys he knows. Would be interesting to see them make a comprehensive comparison video. Unfortunately I don’t have much faith in anything mick does anymore…he is basically an ebwerks employee in my eyes, so not exactly ‘impartial’.
I get pretty good audio on mine with no external mic. I attach it to the trunk pointed down at the exhaust tip and use the open backed case. Its kinda weird because I get less wind noise than the closed back, at least from the trunk. Hopefully I’ll get my video’s together and edited soon. Need to get a couple launches recorded first.
do you have the new one? or the old one? Or the middle one?
I made a video with go-pro once (GO PRO HERO HD i think) and it sounded ok on the trunk of the car, but not perfect.
Anyway, hearing it as a roadside bystander is more important to me
I’ve had mixed luck w/ the new HD GoPro’s. Here is a video i took a few months back…as you can see there is a decent amount of wind noise since i didn’t use the high speed backing plate for the camera.
yeah, my experience was similar with the go pro on the side of the vehicle, although I am not sure I had the proper casing (borrowed jspazz’ go pro for a weekend)
I gotta agree with Joe, it does sound really good. Two things though: horrible quality video and still no performance data.
