Elite Motorsports- Screwing up one car at a time

Im posting this as a suggestion from a few members on here. When I first heard of elite I was warned but I thought “Hey they work on a lot of exotics. They cant be bad”. Well that thinking was wrong. I don’t know if they just don’t give a shit if its not exotic or what but here are a few issues.

I brought my car there for a JHM tune, Milltek catless DP install and alignment. My first quarrel when I picked the car up was I asked them when I dropped it off to raise the rear so it was the same ride height as the front (I have KW V3’s). It wasn’t off much but I wanted it raised a 1/2 inch or so. I told them I would pay if needed just do it. Well it wasn’t done. I was told that I would throw the alignment off that they already did if raised it so I just kept it. Nothing major but clearly lack of attention to detail.

Next up, about a week after picking the car up a good buddy said he thinks my exhaust is leaking. Didn’t sound right. So after bringing it to his friends shop (who wants to remain anonymous) he lifted it and found this.

I specifically asked for a weld to be done. They assured me they would. So what is this black paste on there. We decided to dig a little deeper.

We cleaned the paste off and discovered this

They literally welded half of it. IDK if they were that lazy and didn’t drop the exhaust or what. I couldn’t believe it. You may not have seen my thread on Audizine BECAUSE I posted it and within 4 hours elite reached out to me and offered me full refund IF I deleted the thread. I obliged.

This isn’t the only issue. I will update this thread over the next few days with a few friends of mine who have also have had issues. One being a ruined Tranny and the other a boost problem. Ill post pics and stories once they get them to me.

Wow, that is shit right there…

Did a gremlin sneeze onto your downpipes?

LOL

Not only did they half welded the damn pipes on each side, that half ass weld looks horrible. WTF who welds like that…

It’s sad but too often such behavior is seen at the “high end” shops. Sad, very sad.

Holy fucking shit. Some of the worst welds I have ever seen

That is horrible! Good thing you got a refund that is a joke!

Yeah high performance shops don’t mean anything. One of the most well known out here is called elevation auto spa.

Well I’m out with a couple of friends having some beers and one of them gets a text. Oh Alex is stopping by…great that dickbag sucks, but he is friends with my friends so what can you do. Dude shows up in a 991 c4s…I’m like no way that’s his, so I ask him he says he is test driving it for quality. He is smoking cigs in it, and he just came out of a bar across the street and reeks of booze. He works at elevation auto spa…this prestigious auto shop, and they let employees drink and drive their customer cars…classy

^ lol more like he was trying get some chick to think it was his so he could get in her pants.

^x2 most likely… Sigh employees like that should be fired on a spot, but something tells me this isn’t the first time he’s done that. Therefore, management of that shop is fully aware and condone such behavior, which makes it even worse!

That’s the exact reason I perform 99.9% of work on my car myself.

This topic makes me think, perhaps this forum needs a separate section where dealers, shops, vendors, etc… get reviewed whether it’s good or bad. Since, this forum is not dependent on paying advertisers, members won’t be afraid to speak out and threads/posts won’t be deleted/edited.

I like it. thats a good idea.

WTF kind of hack job is that. Hell, they could of at least tried JB Weld to go along with their crap job…SMH…

Hahahahaha sorry for laughing but I blew up laughing when I saw that.

It looks like ray Charles taught Helen Keller how to weld, and that was her first attempt . But a tornado hit half way through and she was forced to run for cover before she could finish the job.

What happened is they forgot to do your car, and had to rush that because you called to say you were on your way. That’s also why they didn’t do your ride height. Sounds like they fucked up, and then covered their tracks.

Hilarious! You just can’t make this stuff up.

Truly sucks having to go back and repair what should have been done right in the first place. :frowning:

Thanks for making my day. LOLOL best post ever

They have 2 shops now right? Is one better then the other? I had my b7 ppi done by them and was happy but that doesn’t involve much. The PO of the Rs wasn’t happy with his first experience there and I believe they reached out to him after he posted negative feedback too. Interestingly enough he brought it back to them when he ha to deal with the engine failure and insurance. He said “they did me a favor” which made me wonder some. I know shops have helped customers get new engine from insurance before so who knows hat they were attempting. I think elite was going to try to buy it back.

Next on the list is 2 cars from a friend. Didnt learn his lesson the first time. He has a 2013 Golf R. He was installing a new intercooler and they never swapped out the OEM green O ring over to the new discharge pipe. So under heavy load he would lose boost. Luckily our mutual friend coderedpl was able to determine this quite easily and fixed the issue.

He then decided to go back thinking this was an isolated incident. On his DD (older jetta same style as a B6 S4) he had a boost leak. So he asked them to find the leak and find out why anti freeze was mixing with the oil. They charged him $950 bucks and told him everything was fixed. He ended up bringing it home soon realizing nothing was fixed. He then brought it to another place (forcefed engineering) and they found a bad solenoid & a few cracks in the turbo lines.

There is at least one more story on the way. This one is pretty damn good though. Cracked transmission. Ill have pics with this one.

Saki. I dont care if you laugh. Its sucks that happened to me BUT its been fixed.

65vette, I do think they have 2 shops. Ive only been to the farmingdale one. I believe that is the flagship store. The Lambo is there all the time and so isnt Kai (the guy on audizine).

Yea I met Kai and have talked with him a few times. Seemed like a good guy, I don’t think he deals with the in shop stuff but not sure. Sounds like they need to crack down on their techs.

x2

That fucking half assed (and I do mean half) weld is unbelievable. If they had asked me to pull the thread on AZ for a refund, I would have said put it in writing and then sued the living shit out of them. How much did they originally charge you?

But you redeemed yourself by posting here. AR is the place for no BS info, that’s for sure. VIVA AR !

Good description btw Saki - Ray Charles and Helen Keller… rofl…

I’ll make this quick and fast. We appreciate feedback it is what makes us strive to be better, everyone has good and bad reviews. Your most unhappy customers are your greatest source of learning. With the volume of cars that we see these things will unfortunately happen. It is a principle of percentage. We don’t need a math/statistics lesson here so like I said I’ll be quick. What I don’t understand is why is this being brought up months more like years later ;D

 1. The welds on the exhaust, there is no excuse I can make. They are simply bad. We accepted our mess up on AZ months ago and will do so on here as well now that it is brought back up. From me looking into it (I’m the co-owner) this car shouldn’t have been delivered/let go the way it did and unfortunately it did at that time.(long story short tech got a slap). HAD we had known about this problem (a simple telephone call or a email or PM saying, “Hey I just got the downpipes installed and I hear a leak can you guys take a look at it?” Simple as that, would have gone a long way.

I would’ve offered to get the car picked up (sent tow-truck because I know he lives far) but we had no idea until the thread on AZ was posted (again bashing) just like on here upon in which I contacted FastEddie and gave him a refund for the work performed for the ENTIRE job and we went our ways.

 1. Your friend with the Jetta & Golf R, once again had we known the issues going on we would’ve absolutely taken care of it. I am hearing of this first on here. Have him contact me please.

 2. Cracked transmission I’ll get to this before you even post anything about it.

I’m assuming (99% sure) this is an A4 transmission (I won’t mention names due to respect of the owner). AGAIN another case of never came back. Here is the quick story on this, customer brought car to us to swap transmissions. We swapped transmissions, the core (cracked transmission) in this case got cracked during the process around the bell housing if I remember correctly (this happened 4+ years ago) I can’t remember how it cracked but only way a transmission will crack is if something fell on it or it fell off of something ;D (physics). Totally acceptable.

I remember offering to have it repaired or taken care if it was dropped off so we can go over it and see if it was salvageable (remember this was a BAD transmission that needed to be rebuilt anyway and it was cheaper to just swap it out with another trans. at the time but I still offered to repair/fix/compensate the client for a already broken (now cracked) transmission because it cracked in our possession. Customer never came.

Surprisingly I saw him at Waterfest 20 this year (after all these years and I remembered the situation) I personally spoke to him and I told him to come by the shop in the upcoming week and offered to take care of it AFTER 4+ years…no show.
