EPL/amd should soon have some cars in the 10s

Isn’t there a bunch more to it…i.e. managing the throttle in those situations? It’s not just a clutch drop from ‘x’ RPM (well…it could be I guess, but I reckon that’s not the most effective way)

also, your idea re: 1kmh vs. 5kmh is a good idea since if the car creeps at all, 1 kmh could allow you to hit the true rev limiter…

Short answer, no there isn’t more to it.

Some cars, mostly rwd ones will need the throttle to be limited and it will need to play nice with traction control if it is present. Boost limiting is a factor too on some cars. The launch control really is all about the rpms though cause once dialed in for a given setup that is all that matters.

Saki, on my car I do 8km/hr because it gives everything a sec to hook before the car tries to just blow the tires off. Generally a solid .3-.4 second faster 0-60 compared to going full revs right off the line.

I helped JHM with launch assist on the B7 S4 (they kept sending me chips to get it dialed in) and testing showed that they changed more than an RPM limiter.

They made the limit higher than you’d ever want to launch from so that you could choose between launching on your own, or launching with the program. They made it hold at 5500 RPM to trigger the program, then engage when you let off the clutch down somewhere in the 3k range.

This means they definitely changed more than just the secondary rev limiter, otherwise we’d all be killing our clutches launching at 5500 RPM. I must have used it 50-75 times on my B7 S4, stock clutch. I sold the car with 60,000 miles, clutch still holding strong.

I’m an AR celebrity ;D

If they are honestly making an effort to keep internet trolls out of here, that has to be the least successful effort in history. Or maybe the existing forum full of trolls were grandfathered in before the anti-troll campaign?
What does the pot call the kettle?

Haha, there are plenty of people I get along with and honestly in person I’m a pretty easy going guy that just likes to have some laughs.

…not a good celebrity

Jibberjivin’ [jib-er-jive-in]
.verb

 1. The act of threatening AR forum members of your plans for leaving and never coming back because you feel the forum is shit, yet you return over and over because you have the right to post wherever you wish.
 2. Telling everyone how much you hate AR, especially on other forums, yet once again returning to AR to post and exercise your Internet rights.

For #1, are you retarded? I have never said that I am never coming back to AR. If you honestly think I did say that, prove it by finding the post, and I’ll edit it. I’ll wait…

For #2, if that’s how you want to define it, I’ll own it. Nothing bad about exercising my right to do what I want, independent of opposition, on a ‘free speech’ forum.

And whether or not you are a good guy in real life, you’re an abrasive non-contributor on the B5 internet forums. Which now also makes you a hypocrite, with you trying to condemn others as such.

Haha, Most B5 owners don’t eve contribut to the B5 community buddy. My contribution is to bring most of you guys back to reality…your surrounded by shit parts, shit tuners, half-assed builds without proper supporting mods and sometimes you need someone from the outside looking in. I’m by no means a B5 subject matter expert, but I can see where guys skimp on builds…then they wonder why their cars don’t perform.

Own what you want man, have fun with your beast…

I see you and 8nothingrcently get along really well…lol

Cynical negativity = contribution. Got it.

So I see we have something in common…we both don’t like 8URV8s big mouth.

This is a quote from the thread on AZ
This is really what’s holding you back from finally running ‘10.98 or bust’? What would happen if someone were to take you up on your bets, would you get a tune?
No how am I any different from you? I don’t even remember why I don’t like you (probably from the FAW challenge/backout BS)…and maybe how you like to talk shit on this site with fags like MEOW, but then you end up over here posting.

I just know your one of the guys I’ve mentioned that has a modified B5 S4 with missing pieces…weak points that if you addressed you would have a pretty decent car.

You don’t talk your car up like other idiots so I can respect that, but you did dodge the track pretty hard.

I just like fucking with you (you probably also enjoy our forum banter) and I think you only came here because I said tweets was jibberjivin’…lol

yeah he has no fueling and no tune it makes no sense!

You don’t have a tune either pop tart!

Jibberjivin’ makes me laugh lol

MY CAR HAS A FUCKING VAST TUNE!

You people are seriously fucking dumb. Mike at vast took a whole weekend to tune my car it ran out of fuel at 22 psi on e85 that was before the rs4 uppers and the surge tank ect thats all i changed i had to rebuild the built heads because of a bad injector… NO big deal my car is tuned just not at 30 psi like i would like

Everyone knows you go built motor and rs6 to push k04 levels of boost.

You should race meow. He has a 22 psi vast tune with rs6 turbos too. You guys are like twins. See if you can beat his 12.6@114 or whatever he ran at lapeer.

Meow is still pretty proud of that horrible time, he jus posted it on AZ a few days ago in one of 8’s threads. He posted it like it was an accomplishment and not one person called him out for being so fucking slow…compared to where his car should be. He ran like a 13.1,12.98, then Finally a 12.6…the best are his excuses that pop up throught the video about his bogged launches and shitty shifts.

oh snap, post the video here. Would love to watch it.

Independent of forum banter, cynics bug me in all realms of life. It’s easy and anyone can be a cynic and a critic; it’s much harder to actually contribute and be productive. Also presumption irks me as well. You presume to know more about the ‘missing pieces’ and ‘weak points’ (of a build that isn’t even in its final iteration) than the person who actually tore the car down to the bare block and built it back up from the engine internals outwards with his own hands; you presume to know more about a build than someone who is actively developing and engineering parts for the car.

Also, whether joking or not, you perpetuate an inaccurate and dishonest account of happenings. Anyone who reads that FAW callout thread can clearly see that he was unwilling to accept the wager in any way that would require his accountability and have him running against a healthy car; to act like it happened otherwise is dishonest. To act like I ‘backed out’ or ‘dodged the track’ in any way is patently inaccurate, as I would have followed through in a heart beat had he accepted the actual accountability-requiring challenge that I laid out.

Take away the pretentiousness, the presumption, the cynical negativity, and the deliberate inaccurate portrayals of events, and I see no reason why we couldn’t be internet friends.

Are you talking about me? My car has been had the tune dialed in to the max of my current fuel pump for over 6 months. It’s definitely tuned. As far as fueling, I’m towards the latter end of developing a multi-pump setup for the car.

Both of those facts are irrelevant though, as I’m not the one calling any and every one out for big money races “anywhere, anytime, for any amount of money.” That’s why I was curious about your tune, because the way you talk, I thought you car was all wrapped up.

Let me put a lighter to your ass before you think for one moment that anyone here would believe your flatulence. I definitely accepted your bogus challenge, I even made a call to the member on this forum who has a shop in Florida, so that I could send him the $fiftydollars that your broke ass car needed at the time to help with paying your pops to fix your Transmission.

Dude, you are not built for competition, you are an imposter running from forum to forum trying to figure out how things are done. You will never get your car done, you need it to have at least one problem to keep your bitch ass in the bleachers. If you really was trying to be a positive influence on these forums, you wouldn’t be bad talking this forum, or any person on any forum.

You, nycVR6 and guru act as if a person does not have first hand info, that they are fools. Well, I am far from being incapable of smelling those three corpses.

I too feel that the jibberjive vs Faw race discussion and all events around it were bullshit. The story was twisted up in real time by other members and anyone who was watching that had no motives one way or the other (like me) could easily see what was happening.

Both of them were needlessly bashed over it and its a complete farce to keep repeating lies over and over in a hope to make them reality through overwhelming persuasion.

Faw never had any intent to run him, regardless of details. Jibberjive knew this and therefore he basically had no false ideals about it actually happeneing either so he played along. In the end they were just trolling each other. Neither car was ready to go, neither owner was ready to go.

I can understand how some people who haven’t known these guys for years would be confused by that based off what was said.
