Anybody have some insight about this exhaust/manufacturer?

I like the sound, but are they worth it in terms of price? Performance gains (if any)?

ALSO I just had my timing belt service @ 71,1XX miles (2004 a4 3.0q tip). I have all the old parts (excluding the water pump because the dealership has to take it otherwise its $50, dumb right?) so if anybody wants pics or info about 'em lemme know.

I didn’t see any extreme/abnormal wear to the serp, timing belt, or gaskets to my eye…

Exhaust wise.

I Would look at the magnaflow. Its a 2.5 with a X its cost effective. I think JHM has them for like 680$. Great sound fits good.

As for newspeed. All there stuff is ok. The issue is going to be that it goes from 2 into 1 and then back into 2. Performance wise not the greatest. If I was to spend 1100$ on an exhaust for the car I would look more twords the fast intentions exhaust.

Take the pics of the water pump and the other stuff you have. I figure if nothing more its good to look it over

I am very partial to the FI set up, and will most likely go this way towards the end of the year.

pretty positive they don’t make Neuspeed exhausts for the 3.0 anymore, and if the website has it online, they probably don’t have it in stock. before ordering, definitely confirm they have it. I had been searching for Neuspeed exhausts for a long time, but nobody had any in stock, and like I said, pretty positive Neuspeed doesn’t even make it anymore. I have the mufflers from a 1.8T setup on my 3.0 with all stock piping still. It sounds great!

Neuspeed does not make them anymore. I tried ordering 1 from their site back in 2009. I kept getting the run around for 2 months straight until Neuspeed finally told me that they don’t make them anymore because of lack of demand. The told me that they would only sell me one if I got 10 commited buyers.

well good to see an uncommited company wanting a commitment from the members. I would seriously look into the JHM magnaflow system. For 700$ its better then the china crap sold else where thats the same size as the stock 3.0 exhaust

Ya I’m interested in the magnaflow as well… I was going to get something custom made locally but it’s going to run me about $1300, no point if the magnaflow is just as good.

It is. Ive seen it and helped a friend install one on his B6 S4. for the money its a great deal. He spend 834$ sucks when he could have gotten it from JHM for 150$ less. Add the JHM DownPipes and its a serious package if you ask me.

I don’t know about what someone was told in 2009 about Neuspeed not making the 3.0 Exhaust anymore.
I talked to them on the phone in Feb 2010 and they said I would have to wait till a container was filled to
send them to the US. The wait was going to be about 3 months. So I decided on getting 55mm Miltek.
Doesn’t sound as good as the Neuspeed to me but the car sounds like its a pissed off beast when I give it the
beens. It has a center balance flow pipe so the duals are connected but it doesn’t restrict flow. And it doesn’t drone out like the asscan ricer Civics around here.

I don’t like the Magnaflow it sounds too much like an american car or a Mustang which I don’t like anyway.

I’m loving the Magnaflow (+piggies) on my B6 S4 if that’s anything to go by. Cheap (about $720 IIRC shipped to my Canadian door), X-pipe, sounds great. Sure, the FI (although I’m referring to saki’s old B7 S4 with catless 2.5" DPs) sounds better but not $700 better. The guys that installed it felt it was a pretty well made piece of kit. (They also drooled a lot over the JHM LWFW so they know quality!)

Halo549 I agree something about that newspeed sounded great. While it wasn’t the best ever exhaust for making power it was a unique exhaust. Is that a milltek exhaust on your car now. Is that what the pictures are from. It looks like its just two sections and no X section.

Your so right for the money its hard to find a better exhaust system then the magnaflow. Sounds great and really performs well. Its definitely no FI Exhaust but I Also agree FI is great but for 700 less. Its hard to pass epically if your a B6

ill have a custom 2.5" up for sale in the coming month that consists of Fast Intentions x-pipe, two fast intentions 16" resonators and two Dynomax mufflers. if anyone wants to hear what it sounds like, check out the videos of my car. it doesnt drone and i have no interior yet its loud as piss on the outside. really nice setup. 500 bucks plus shipping

Sick deal! Although having thought about it, based on my current employment its probably in my best interest to avoid having a “loud” exhaust. Louder than stock sure, but not “loud” lol. Would adding more resonators help?

16" resonation section is pretty big and more for toning down the rasp and keeping it clean and bassy.

Ditch the race mufflers and put on some magnaflow mufflers (which are always for sale cheap) and you’d have a pretty killer catback for cheap, performance wise. Sound wise would be a crapshoot as we don’t know till we hear it.

I was thinking you were running no mufflers 91? I still want to get a second set of tips from the resonators back made from mine, but I’m on the 2.5" F.I.

Maybe by the summer JHM will have all the kinks figured out for their exhaust options and can get a special 2.75" setup . . .

I’ll sell my 14851’s for cheap. I’m doing quads in the spring, but I can do it earlier if someone wants my mufflers now. They’re kind of like straight pipes because of all the carbon clogging them up.

i have Captain Insano’s old exhaust. its actually not loud at all and sounds really good. If anyone wants my OLD setup, which is LOUD, than we can arrange something lol
