right where the rubber comes around the corner at the rear they cant lift it up and tuck underneath for about an inch and a half so they slice it as close as possible. its unnoticeable unless your face is 6 inches from it.
I have some black wax im gonna smear in there when I get to polishing the car out again, I also made a few superficial scratches while doing the mirrors.

I think if it was Spring and sunny, instead of November and snowing, we would have had a better turnout.

The time of the year really screwed us on the GB. Only the diehard Audi guys are thinking about modding their cars at this time of year

Just got back. I had the grille done and the window trim. I skipped the trunk piece because
- stock Ti package makes that body-colour, not black
- my car is Avus silver, and the aluminium looking piece is close enough that it will look better as it is rather than a big black section
So that left me with the windown trim and grille surround.
First, I had to remove my failing plastidip from the front grille. I did that last night…pain in the ass. I sprayed some lubricant on it (WD40 type stuff) and it melted off so that was a relief. MarcusDubya…if you’re listening…you’re going to want to remember this when you remove the plastidip from your trim later this year!
Funny thing is, this is the first time in a while that my car has had all silver trim, and silver OEM wheels on. Only was going to last a day, but it does look good all silver’d up.

Then off I went to restyleit. I went to the one in Markham because it was going to be easier for them (but not me). He was doing us a favour and honoring the discount even though we only had 2 cars (so far). So I didn’t mind the extra drive.
First stop was in Woodbridge at an indoor golf centre. That was fun…place is amazing with a bunch of launch monitors and stuff. I got some good trackman data on my swing which I’ll post in the golf thread…
Anyway, when I arrived at restyleit Markham, they said it’d be about 2.5 hrs for window and 3.5 for window+grill. They assumed I wanted gloss black because all the trim on the car is gloss. I actually wanted matte black. This was a problem because they only had enough matte to do the window trim, but not the grill. I told them to just do the windows then (I was waffling on the grille anyway…I was going to give it another go with the plastidip).
After they got started, a few minutes in I started looking at pics of Ti package cars, and noticed the grill is actually gloss black while the windows are matte. Since I wanted it to look OEM, I told the guys to just do the grill in gloss. They went ahead.
I settled in to read some magazines and mess around on my phone. I was pleasantly surprised when they were ready after just 90 minutes. A few minutes of shooting the shit (the one guy had a great looking E39 M5 wrapped purple and was a car nut) and off I went.
$300 all in (tax here is 13% for the americans reading)

Here’s the little seem…it’s a seem on the aluminium stock, so they have to put a tiny seem. You can barely see some aluminium shining through if you’re an insane detail nut and really look close. I’m not. I haven’t washed my car since September. I will hit it with a black sharpie.
