EYEspI/ Mantis GIAC stage 2 issues

Cleared all stored adaptation in the engine and transmission modules. The surging has gone away, car feels stronger now

Still working with Todd@AWE to help compensate for the DSG flash

How do you clear them?

Vagcom

Very interesting turn of events. Wonderful to hear. Perhaps you could share more on what the adaptation was the issue.

The theory was that the transmission module was storing behaviour from the small amount of driving I had done after being tuned for stage 2 but without the DSG flash. I haven’t received my new Vagcom cable yet so I popped into my local indy and had him clear codes (there were none) on the engine and transmission modules, which effectively clears any adaptation which may have been stored.

I took the car on a road trip this weekend, North 350km to Edmonton and back, no more surging and the car is feeling stronger. I even had a chance to up the octane level and ran the race file for 60km, the car has enough jam to step out while accelerating away from a stoplight with 5 adults in the car, 2 of which were rather large, and that is saying something considering I am 6’1" 230lbs and I wasn’t one of the large people.

lol, thanks tips. I know this.

I should have been more specific in order to avoid helpful posts such as yours

I meant what procedure/process is being followed in order to clear the adaptations. I thought I already did it correctly and sounds like I still am.

What, you didn’t like my smart ass reply? lol

There is a clear adaptations method inside Vagcom if I recall, I would have to fire up the machine to do be more specific. Clearing just fault codes doesn’t do it.

Haha,

Do you remember if it is in each module specifically? I am going to have a look after I get car back from dealership.

Todd @ AWE is a man of his word!!! I just heard form my local vendor, they are refunding the cost of the DSG flash in full.

The car has settled into an acceptable performance level, the surging is gone after clearing the transmission adaptation.

I am extremely happy with AWE’s customer service, I will be purchasing other products directly through them in the future, such as the Coldfront system

Good stuff! So did they comment on “is DSG required for stage II” yet like it says on the website.

Todd mentioned that they are not going to make it an outright requirement, but they are going to embark on a campaign to let 10my owners know that the possibility of requiring the DSG flash is higher than other MY’s. I am not sure if there is any plan to offer a different ECU flash for the 10’s or not.

I was floored by Todd’s customer service, I will be making purchases at AWE in the future

That’s great service there.
