Nothing to gain personally as my customers donāt subscribe to this forum, that was what I meant, unfortunately in Israel we donāt get too many S5ās as they are ridiculously over priced and just not worth the money.
The scene here is comprised mostly of 2.0 tsi/tfsi cars and a GIAC car actually took first place 2 times in a row in Israelās official drag race averaging a 12.2 1/4 mile with a K04 98 Ron and W/M injection but thatās not really related to this thread and Iām sure just bringing it up would yield more hate towards me so apologies in advance to any haters out there
Didnāt mean to upset anyone and I apologize if I did.
Avihai thatās also one of my favorite movies ever, when I saw āAvi-ā thatās all I could think about. Rip Dennis Farina, No insult meant by the video.
Primetime and Sakimano said exactly what I would have (minus the camels lol). By your own admission the APR car wasnāt working properly (just like EyespI and GIAC) but in both cases the problems should have been fixed by the tuner. Comparing the performance of the two cars you mentioned in their relative condition is pretty ignorant, especially the 50 go comment. You have a lot to catch up on as to the real performance of APR, GIAC, and other tunes available for this car.
[quote=āJones2012s4,post:81,topic:5362ā]
you should put stage 2 caveats in there.
Anyway, arenāt you like 7th now ? And thatās 7th of the times that are postedā¦youāre actually in reality 8th or worse.
Itās crazy the breadth of the B8 list. Thereās a 11.78, 77, 76, 75, 74, 69, 62, 60.
The 7th fastest B8 S4 is almost equal to the 7th fastest RS4ā¦ When you think about it, the spread between 1st fastest RS4 to 7th fastest is like a whole second. In the B8 S4, that spread is a tenth. And the RS4 has been around for 3 more years.
dude I literally googled to see what would come up, then clicked through a couple of links andā¦well the rest is diplomatic Canada-Israeli relations destruction history
No offense taken
Just to make things clear, it was the same car for both tunes, customer went to APR and got a stg2, averaged 4.1 0-60mph on a racelogic pbox - wasnāt happy, came to me, installed GIAC stage 1 - said it measured the same as APR stg2 on the pbox then installed the GIAC stg2 + DSG tune and averaged 3.8 on the pbox.
Saki and Tsivas and atude will have a lot to say about pbox numbers taken from the screen rather than the bin file. But I digress. If thereās something you know that can help EyespI, maybe having some insight or like experience, let us know. Is GIAC making you install DSG tunes mandatory with stage II? How many shekels is it over there
Re the camels, thatās really no different than someone posting igloos or cowboys or whatever. I laughed.
2 weeks ago, my rs4 with JHM exhaust
0-60 screen 4.1
0-60 for that run on the datafile 4.32
A week later same car, same driveway
0-60 screen 4.2
0-60 for that run on the datafile 4.28
Explain that one lol. Not to mention the screen doesnāt show if youāre going straight downhill whereas the datafile does. Even then that too can be off as much as 0.5-0.75%ā¦which is 8 feet in a 1/4 mile run.
All in, the pbox is a fun tool but it is wrong enough that nobody should be using it to benchmark performance and to stake reputations of businesses on it. Itās too wonky
Camel Joke was funny I laughed too (And kept the picture for future use), Iāll try to get the Racelogic logs and post, they should still be there I guess and itās just a matter of getting the SD front he customer and digging into it a little, regarding the DSG tune, didnāt do a lot of B8ās, however on the B8.5ās I do highly recommend a DSG tune with stage 2, otherwise I ask Garret for a low output file as the gearbox tends to be overprotective of it self in the newer cars.
Now thatās interesting info. Thanks Avihai, any B8s get that file? We know the DSG shift points are pretty low on the B8.5s, DSG tuning would be nice (someone here still went 12.1-12.2 with GIAC on B8.5 and no DSG tune) But this is the first (well, first confirmation of EyespIās experience) Iām hearing of a lower output file to protect the car.
It makes sense, but people might be a little hurt if they knew that one tuner dumbed down the tune for people who didnāt spend $3k plus, whereas maybe the other tuner didnāt.
Now Iām very curious what Todd or Garrett has to say. And/or Arin, as to what APR does.
Remember the logs weāve seen on GIAC shows load map restrictions from both Pete and Jonesā¦at least the last ones I saw from them. I guess the last tune revision gives them the full monte finally?
