Audi 2008 B7 DTM S4
I had been out of the car scene for about 4 years before buying my car. I came from the LS crowd having owned a 94 Z28 with a LS6 block to go in. When I met my (now) wife and decided to move to NYC I couldn’t take the car with me so I parted it out and drove a around a Chevy cavalier for a few years. I decided it was time to buy something nice and started looking into German cars. My family bought American since I was born and this was something entirely new. My sister in law had just bought a new A5 and I loved it so I decided to look around for a 4 door (wife requirement) Audi.
I planned a trip to FL to test drive a few cars. When I found my car I fell in love and bought in full. It was a 2008 DTM S4 with 22,500 miles. Totally stock with CPO warranty. I drove her back to NYC and told myself I would just keep it stock. That lasted about a year. I went to an Audi sport driving event where I got to drive the entire S RS and R line up. I brought a buddy with me who had some mods on his car and after the event he hinted that I should start modding the car because these things are awesome. I had already convinced myself after the day so I began searching.

I’ve always been someone who believe the car who handle great before adding a bunch of power. So I decided to do suspension mods first and move from there. I found a set of KW V3’s on ebay for 1200 bucks. Owner said they only had 8000 miles on them (I think that was lie but ill get to that). I pulled the trigger on them. My next mod would be the wheels. A buddy of mine had RS4 wheels and I couldn’t get over how well they looked on the car. So I started searching for some. I found a set on vendorzine and picked them up. They needed refinishing because the owner tried doing it himself and did a shitty job.

I had them done as Espo’s in Staten Island. I HIGHLY recommend them. Top notch work. I will be going back for my new set of winter wheels I just got.

Next was to get the coilovers installed on the car with the wheels and some Michelin Pilot Super Sports (AWESOME tires BTW). I went over to Prime Motoring for this. The guys there were really cool and gave a great price. The also did a quick detail on the car while there. My one complaint with them is that they left my driver side pinch bolt very loose. ALSO, shortly after having my coilovers installed I suddenly needed new UCA. I never had a noise or loose steering beforehand but within 2-3 months of having these installed my UCA were SHOT! Im not putting them on the hook 100% saying they didn’t tighten the suspension under load but weird coincidence. Plus my pinch bolt (barely even in) made me wonder. Luckily a week after bringing it to Prime I took it to Tyrol sport for a corner balance and alignment and they found the pinch bolt.

As I said shortly after this my control arms were shot. I decided that I might as well go with 034 adj UCA. I purchased those and got them. As they were being shipped in surprise my front passenger coilover blew (hence I think 8k was a lie). KW told me a 3 week turnaround time. Being in NYC I didn’t WTF to do. No shop would take my car and wait for three weeks until I spoke with Elite who said they would do it and charge me a small storage fee. So I agreed and took the car to Elite and had the Adj UCA, 034 strut mounts and coilovers removed and installed (I had both fronts taken off and rebuilt).
Over the winter i picked up a bunch of mods and waited until spring time to install. My mod list included Hotchkiss RS4 sways, Porsche cayenne BBK, Miltek Catless Downpipes, Fast Intentions exhaust, 034 front and rear endlinks, Custom made steering wheel, SRP JHM racing pedals, RNSE gen 2 and Shift knob mod (forgot the name), RS4 Grille, LED Tails, LED City and DRL and Black out the headlight housings. I had most of this work done at my good friend Coderedpl’s house. The downpipes i went and had installed at Elite motorsports, as well as the JHM tune and an alignment.
Working at Coderedpl’s house. Cant say how much of a cool person he is. He has helped me with almost everything on my car and has become a great friend.

As we know this is when Elite Motorsports decided to do a half ass job on my car with the welding. For that entire story see here. http://audirevolution.net/forum/index.php?topic=2804.0
I got the car fixed by another friend who i met through Coderedpl. Now if i need big work done i go to him. He was able to weld the car correctly and fix some issues i was having with my brake lines (ECS brake lines that didn’t fit well). The next day is a day ill never forget
All that prep work was for Quattro de mayo. My favorite event to go to. Its 3 days of driving through backroad mountains in North Carolina and Tennessee. On my way down it was pouring and i got rerouted in Jersey because a bridge was recently shut down. I was driving in the dark and couldn’t see the road because it was covered with water. The road suddenly had a big descend in elevation and water went up over my hood and into the engine. I sat in the car in disbelief for about 5 minutes. I called my father who i meeting at QDM and told him what happened. i called for a tow and no one was coming until the next day. i looked out and noticed i literally had about 2 inches before it was going to start coming into the car. The police showed up shortly after and made me leave the car there. They took me to the station and i waited for my wife to pick me up. Once she got there i told im leaving my car there. im going to try and save her. I drove as close as i could and parked. I then got out walked to the car and pushed it about a 1/4 mile by myself until it was out of the water. During this process someone else thought they could make it. LOL same scenario. Knowing i couldn’t push my car by myself (wife was 6 months preggo) i told him if he helps me get my car up on the curb off the road ill help him out of the water and on the curb.

Next day i had the car towed to V&S motors in bayside NY. There we were able to put boroscope into the engine and see the water on the pistons. I had no idea what was next. Insurance wanted to total the car. However after convincing him, he paid for a new engine and exhaust (mufflers were destroyed from the cold water hitting the heated up glasspacks)

V&S was awesome to deal with. As you can see from some pics while the engine was out i had 034 Motor mounts, 034 snub with bracket, and 034 transmission mount, JHM 6 rib and light weight crank pulley installed. Ill be doing more business with them in the near future. As crazy as this sounds this sounds my new engine was missing sealant on the oil pan. They missed half of the oil pan. We started the car up and oil poured out. So the car now had to be towed to AOA to be fixed. That took 2 weeks and shocker, they still didn’t fix it. I still had a leak. V&S called AOA and told them and they wanted the car back again. Instead Pablo at V&S took it upon himself to pull motor and replace it correctly. He said they couldn’t do it right the first time, why would they do it right a second. Great service!
The car was back and living again. Because the mufflers were ruined i decided to buy Borla mufflers with RS4 tips to make the car look and sound better.

I haven’t done too much since then. Im probably forgetting a few things but ill update as needed. Theres a few shots below from waterfest and h2o (where i met Jimmybones and slow4 Awesome guys!) This winter have stocked up on LOADS of JHM parts and we recently looked around up front and noticed i should replace my Lower control arms. So expect this to get updated ALOT in the next 2 months as i prepare for QDM again this year.
Any questions please feel free to ask.
