FastEddie's Build Thread

Sweet thanks for the suggestions. I havent bought any accessories for it yet but i want to get a few things. Those links will help.

Justin, no X so i gues it was a brand new motor. I know a few people on zoo i might just have to go and show this to because they were “certain” no more new motors were being built.

Also i still have the original spoiler. Any reason why you ask?

Audi will stock motors new motors for 10 years past production. It’s some law for us import

What did 034 for say about the links?

Dad

I’d like to hear what they said as well.

Said they have never seen that before. They are sending me replacement no charge.

be careful when the mic is plugged in

last time I used it, I got tangled up in it and the cord yanked pretty hard. This pulled the microphone adapter dongle that plugs into the gopro, and this snapped the mini usb port right off the motherboard of my go pro.

So now I have a go pro with
a) no way to charge it
b) no way to connect an external microphone.

I took it apart and it’s royally fucked. I also did a load of research and there’s no way to fix it unfortunately. So it’s a paperweight… at least I thought it was. I can buy a battery charger (a thing you plug the gopro battery into) and charge the batteries that way, but can’t use an external microphone anymore.

That sucks because the sound is absolutely dogshit on a gopro.

Case in point -

RS4 vs. Pontiac G8 something - using GoPro sound

WOW saki that’s a huge difference. ill be sure to be careful. Thing was 500 bucks. If I broke it id be pretty fucking pissed off.

The difference in wind noise is huge. Where did you mount the microphone. Was the cord left out or did you run it through the car.

You tape the mic on the bumper and run the wire through the trunk and back seats. I use the handles over the windows to hold the cord out of the way too.

after a quick search would this kit work? it looks like both links made into one.

We should start a go pro thread. I have been thinking about getting one. I don’t think I can justify the cost because I don’t record stuff very much. But I would like to know more.

Eddie, that should definitely work. That’s a great deal too so I’d grab it. The mic might not be that great but again $20.

Here you go Justin.

Sweet thanks. I think im going to buy an extra mic if it sucks. at least it comes with a 20ft cord.

Also, you can grab one of these frame mounts for $5 which allows you to plug the cable into the camera with the mount on.

I use this for recording inside the car. Not sure I’d risk mounting it on the outside of the car since it provides no protection. Even with the safety tether straps I’d worry about the lens banging up against the side of the car and breaking at high speeds.

Finally, if you haven’t already gotten the GoPro suction cup mount, I heard this one was way better.

Supposedly it can handle much higher speeds.

Thanks for the help!
