Fatbody 4.2

I’ll make this organized at some point, but for now its just gonna a pic dump of the car and all the shit I’ve broken on it

to start

Love the stance. Those Hankook RS3’s?

thanks, and yes 255/40/17 RS3s which are actually 274mm wide lol

it looks so good

what’s the deal on the wheels again? Are they SSR Comps in gunmetal or matte black?

On your exhaust video it sounds amazing. Screams.

gunmetal comps, 17"x8.5" ET35 with 15mm spacers… I love the gunmetal, its dark without losing distinction and it matches the brake dust perfectly

exactly. black just disappears. silver is dirty as all hell all the time.

17in wheels FTW. Great looking car.

Finally! haha. Love the car man List all the mods and more pics

it’s an even bigger win when wheel weight < wheel diameter

I’m sure my time at the dragstrip was helped by the 17in wheels. What brakes/wheels are you running bee? I’d like to find a set of 17in LW wheels that clear the S4 brakes. IIRC Audi wheels do (the owner’s manual recommends 17’s for winter) but I think I’ve read somewhere that some aftermarket 17’s won’t fit.

Either way that has to be the finest 4.2 A6 around.

they are SSR Comps over the factory HP2 calipers which are awful for clearance. I’d like to do a 330mm BBK if I keep the car, but for now the stockers work fine.

For the S4 I know the B5 S4 17s clear, same with lots of other factory 17s. For aftermarket I know my OZ Ultraleggeras cleared. The B6 S4 caliper is actually a decent design as far as clearance and I’d suspect most performance oriented brand’s 17s should clear stockers.

I like it, it reminds me of my friend’s Grand National. All black, low and mean 8)

what year? does he want to trade? lol

Haha, I don’t think he would ever part with it, even though he constantly says he will since it sits most of the time.

His last one was a beast but died to a huge fireball coming from the engine. A pocket of oil had built up in a cracked header, mix that with 110 octane on a hot day and it didn’t end well.

His current one is an '87 and is very clean. He literally has added almost everything from the GN parts bible so it’s even crazier than the last one. I keep trying to get him to upgrade his brakes and suspension so he can turn but that’s for another day. LOL, trying to go up an on ramp with skinnies in the front while it’s raining is scary enough.

Sadly it spends most days in the garage because he’s either taking his Raptor, his Harley, or his mountain bike to work.

there were a couple of GNs at the strip last time I was there with my S4 but i was surprised they weren’t faster. They were kinda low 12s at very low mph like 108. Does that sound right? obviously there are faster ones, but it seemed weird.

depends on what year, there was a lot of variety, nonIC/noEFI, nonIC/EFI, IC/EFI, GNX. A GNX stock was like a lower 13 @ 105 iirc, not bad for an 87 lol

drove home in this shit today

as you can see the SSRs are still on the car, along with the Hankook R-S3s… fantastic tire in the snow let me tell you ::slight_smile:

cool…the long shutter speed created little streaks in the photo

p.s. was it a disaster, or did quattro even the score?

that would have been fun and interesting all at the same time…

great looking car beemercer
