Ghetto stancetards are now buying RS4s

First off, the car would never be for sale tomorrow for $30k. “Ruined” as in…looks great from the factory, looked pretty decent with coilovers and normal sized wheels, and now looks hideous with the gawdy 5-spokes and bags…RUINED.

Pieces of the body were hacked for the coilovers, now I’d imagine even more holes/modifications were made for the bag setup. If a person wanted to take it back to a coilover setup, well they could, but they would have left over holes from the previous setup. The fenders are pulled/modified so a stock normal sized wheel will never look right again. All this is still ruined. I would buy the car though for $30k tomorrow, I’d swap the steering wheel and seats and then sell it to some stancetard for $40k.

I think theres a point where a car reaches its peak and no longer needs more modifications, anything u do after that just takes away from it.

you buy an RS4 because its an RS4 and you like how its designed. all cars need a few tweaks and more power but it makes me sad to see them diced all to shit like a civic.

Let’s hear your thoughts then on the following:

  1. air bag suspension vs. the stasis (bankrupt) suspension you all (the moron crew) used to rave about so often

  2. poorly pulled fenders leaving panels not lining up

  3. the worst wheels yet on his RS4 (that’s saying something)

and last but not least…

  1. a supercharger kit that has blown up the engine, requiring replacement, on 2/3 of the other cars we know that have had it installed. It runs 16+PSI of boost in dense conditions, and FT’s car now has the optional APR smokescreen package with his car. He’s on his way to ‘kissing’ his rings goodbye. And his motor.

So yeah, ruined.

from that perspective i guess i agree somewhat. i hate to go here, but you could say the same thing about the JHM charger. the modifications to the stock RS to install this equipment would "ruin the car) to some (and would seem by your definitions your included in that some) a JHM charger would ruin the great looks from the factory. after all you lose a set of lights. your frame is also “hacked” as you put it. you could not go back to stock with out welding a piece back in the frame, although you could get your lights back.

I saw the bag setup at H20 and the only modification was one screw hole in the wheel well area to ground the compressors.

do I think that what FT did, or installing Stasis MS, or installing a JHM charger, or painting headlights black inside or shaving fendors off is ruining the RS4 no… but would seem like based on this thread all of these activities would ruin the RS by your definition.

JHM goes through motors. You guys call that “great bc they are pushing the limits.” Why would an APR test car going through a motor/s be seen any differently? I’m not defending anything. I’m just saying there seems to be a pretty heavy imbalance of things that you all consider as a problem one it’s one 3 letter company, but not a problem when it’s another.

Please also let me know what information you have that a second RS4 has a blown motor. From what I hear the test car was down for the APR downpipe project. Once again, not that blowing a motor on a test car is a major deal. But you should have some type of actual proof on knowledge of that before saying it right?

I wasn’t evaluating the suspension. I said that I don’t give a fuck. I was evaluating the douchebag owner.

As for me, sure I like DRC+springs for a good ride and great look. It’s a 4 door family sedan that gets driven spiritedly where appropriate. It goes to the dragstrip to measure its acceleration and the acceleration gains earned with the modifications I’ve chosen. I don’t get why you’re bringing those things up, as if it qualifies me or disqualifies me from talking about flying rotten apple? You took your car to the dragstrip at least once. You failed (miserably) at it, and if you went back you hit the information. You also used to street race your fucking face off with badblueRS4 and your buddies with the BMWs. You act like everyone forgets this stuff about you? Does that mean all you do is drive straight? It’s just one of many things you did (poorly) with your RS4.

explain to me why drc isn’t a great suspension?

because out of his 3 friends, they all put stasis ohlins on their car.

1 has removed it from his car
1 doesn’t even track his car anymore
the other is about as smart as a stapler

It is a great question though. It was good enough to go 7:58 on the nurburgring…the fastest 4 door ring lap of all time. It’s also great for a daily driver, and doesn’t need rebuilt every 12 months, under a bankrupt company’s non-existent warranty.

I think he was using that a an example from above when to made comment about the cuts made to the firewall. I’m not a fan of the aired out look, I see purpose in bags to an extent. What his intention was, no one here really knows. Maybe he just wanted to change up the car and try something different. What other way to show you have bags then to air it out. IDK, i always cringe when i see a performance based car stanced with stretched out tired and aired out. My buddy has a R with bags but they are competition bags with 18 inch non stretched enkei wheels and it looks bad ass. Handles like a motherfucker too. The wheels he put on now just scream scene points. They look stupid IMO. His previous setup looked awesome IMO.

I believe jhm has already remedied the foglight and Id rather see a bit of plumping and have a snail over a roots style blower anyday. lower psi equaling same power is a bit of a no brainer for me.

Does sakimano realize that the suspension that Stasis put their name on is really an Ohlin’s manufactured/tested setup? Maybe he doesn’t realize that it’s one of the most respected brands in the racing scene as well as used on many supercars for great street/track ability. I’ve never head anyone speak negatively about them … Aside from here. Let me guess, nothing is better than the DRC? That’s almost as silly as someone saying Alcons are bad just bc stasis slapped their name on a few sets. It’s just relabeling, or I guess you guys call it “outsourcing” when JHM does it. Botton line is regardless who sold the Ohlins setup, it’s a great suspension. Period. Anyone who has ever spent any time on a track with DRC vs Ohlins would get it. On the street it’s harder to appreciate the benefits. On a drag strip, I’m sure it’s even more irrelevant.

and 7:58 is fucking fast. look at the list of the top 100 and see the shit that’s slower than that. its quite impressive. I find my car wonderful in the corners, I only find myself wanting a bit more firmness. the car is predictable and easy to drive at its limit. for a 4000 pound 4 door sedan daily driver im quite happy.
