For every page of useful info on this site there’s 10 of garbage so sorry if I have no desire to go through all of that. Please copy and paste exactly what info you are referring to where the APR test care is currently down with a blown motor. I’m guessing this would be info from the owner or APR since clearly gossip doesn’t count. And once again, why should APR having a blown motor on a test car be a major concern? Hasn’t JHM blown motors as well? Or is it different when they do it?
Thanks for continuing to expose you’re completely useless and have nothing to offer. Goodbye troll I think you’ve done a great job of showing how ignorant people like you are. You have the facts in front of you and don’t have the ability to read but muttering to yourself about how your thoughts are somehow facts is something you’ve been able to just keep on with.
moron…first off nice ban evasion. Fooled me for a second.
second off, what the fuck are you talking about the stasis (bankrupt) suspension for? Flying tomatoes thought it was sooooo great, he pulled it off, threw it in the garbage after 18 months, and went with air bags. That’s what is ironic.
Ask the guys who have 15,000 miles on theres and need a $2000 rebuild and 2 weeks of downtime how great it is.
I don’t give a shit if it’s great on a track. If it only works for a short period of time then needs rebuilding, that’s SHIT on a daily driver (and if you bought a 4 door 4 seater RS4 just for the track, all the power to you…but 99% of RS4 owners tend to want to drive them, not put them on jacks for 2 weeks while their suspension is rebuilt. last time I checked, you were putting your RS4 out to pasture with respect to track duties and you bought yourself an E36 M3. Tell me more about that lol).
Another example, the APR supercharger is great at making your car accelerate…but if you blow your motor within a month as the APR test car and MEEM’s car did, what the fuck good is it? 2 out of 3 dead motors is a pretty shitty run rate.
nobody cares if you know or not. We’re just telling you that you’re dead wrong and out of the loop. Please fuck off.
It’s a concern because
a) APRdidn’t own the car…it wasn’t a development car that had 20,000 supercharged miles on it and had an engine tear down to see what was up. They used it to do an install guide (along with flying rotten apple) and dyno stuff and dragstrip stuff. It was not APR’s fucking car. They borrowed it.
b) APR tested it, pushed the shit out of it, and then launched the kit for sale to the public…the motors started blowing a couple months later…not in ‘testing’. The kit was fucking sold already. To guys like meem, whose motor blew. Notice that JHM wouldn’t sell you a stage 2 supercharger kit 2 years ago even though Dan’s car was already trapping 125 MPH at the strip? Why? They were still testing the kit. Even today they are. They didn’t push 16 psi and get it out there, only to have the motors blow AFTER they’d sold it to the public. JHM in contrast bought an RS4, tested it, and are rolling out the kit slowly. They’ve torn the motor apart half a dozen times. They’ve developed forged internals and have sleeved RS4 blocks for big power. This is a very different proicess to borrowing a car, installing the kit, running it (slower than JHM) at the strip, and then selling it to meem…only to have meem and the borrowed car blow their motors immediately.
c) three guys on the forums got the APR1740…one was the GRD car (the one in the video) that blew the motor (call GRD in Chicago if you want to hear about it)…one was meem who blew his motor…the other is FT aka if his motor blew, we wouldn’t hear a thing (but we do know it’s smoking like a fucking tire fire)
Glad to see my car is super popular with the whole look stock? BS line. Fact, it is a temporary condition that is easily fixed, and will be in about 276 days. Fact, most people will look at it and not be able to tell that anything has been done aside from the beautiful whine of the SC which is oh so subtle…
Stock DRC isn’t a great suspension. If I had it to do again I would buy the same Ohlins setup. You like ur DRC. AWESOME! Great for you. But there is no comparison. But all you do is drive in a straight line so I don’t expect much from you. And yes, a 1k lb lighter e36 with an S54 is faster than an RS4. Doesn’t take a brain surgeon to figure that out. RS4 is a perfect car to get into track days with for people to figure out if they want to take it to the next level.
I thought that was your car lol. minus the fog light, if the lines were black u wouldn’t see anything at all. and when he said cutting into the frame??? nowhere do u cut into structural material installing the jhm kit.
why do ppl pop on here just to bust jhm balls? sounds like jealousy to me.
I think a functional suspension like what your doing is a great thing. It sucks when there are people who take what can be something really neat and make a crazy stupid situation out of it.
I have no agenda for or against APR or JHM. So of course blowing motors is never a good thing. But 1 of those 2 were clearly related to bad maintenance items installed on the car. So for you all to keep tossing that around as though the s/c blew the motor is pretty fraudulent. You hate it when people associate JHM tunes to blown motors yet turn around and do the same exact thing to APR… SUSPECT!!!
I am very glad with my decision at the end of the day. Centrifugal is a no brainer, and the price was quite a bargain. I can easily buy a fucking light bar to slap on my bumper and roof to supliment the missing fog light since it appearently that fucking important. I can’t believe this arguement. I am not one to take sides, but come on now. This is fucking petty. I don’t even know how this morphed from a discussion about suspensions to superchargers.
So you don’t think for one second APR would cast blame on the installer or “non-APR hardware”? Meem was OCD about his car, he probably checked the injector P/Ns a million times, and still says that they were correct.
The APR test mule (GRDs car) has apparently been through more than one motor.
I’d hate to break it to you, but their new guy went from tuning Dodge Neons…to Evos…to Audis, he went from backyard to the big house too quick. Now he is blowing motors on APRs dime…multiple engine across multiple platforms.
You don’t have to choose a side…but if you question JHM products you should probably question all products, especially the ones causing motors to fail.
I seen once again you’re struggling with the concept of what a fact is. To help you better understand why you look so foolish note your below comments are opinions.
I think theres a point where a car reaches its peak and no longer needs more modifications, anything u do after that just takes away from it.
you buy an RS4 because its an RS4 and you like how its designed. all cars need a few tweaks and more power but it makes me sad to see them diced all to shit like a civic.
JHM goes through motors. You guys call that “great bc they are pushing the limits.” Why would an APR test car going through a motor/s be seen any differently? I’m not defending anything. I’m just saying there seems to be a pretty heavy imbalance of things that you all consider as a problem one it’s one 3 letter company, but not a problem when it’s another.
