GIAC Stage 2 with AWE Tuning Pulley

What’s APR saying about that? Or is it OEM parts causing the problems?

im waiting for them to get settled back in from daytona, i told arin i would email him whats up, i still want to get it over to the shop and pull the bumper and investigate further before i email arin just so i could get a better grasp as to whats going on and give him a little more than “dude wtf my pump stopped working” lol.

Have the shop take a look at it and give tech support a call. If something’s broken, we can replace it under warranty.

Rich, the CPS pump is inline, directly after the factory intercooler pump…if the factory pump is not working, clogged, empty, too high viscosity/current draw, etc etc it should show a fault code. At a minimum you should have factory flow or close to it…I’d guess?

I’d still try to flush it out with water, then add the proper mix of G12++…

Nice Tsivas, thanks for showing that. Yeah the gap between stage I and II definitely closes up at the higher RPMs.

Saki, for sure a stage II setup is just more compelling on the street, or almost any situation. Having power down under 3000 rpm, it completely transforms the powerband…it was like the same feeling when my B5 S4 got unrestricted.

It’s hilarious about those times REVO 93…I should get you data on REVO 100 lol…it’s probably no different than 93.

New logs from last night…

Temps 27F, DA -2126
Atm pressure 1009 mbar

You know the cars
-APR Stage 2 V2.2, 6MT, Strat intake, AWE catback, CPS reservoir, 93 gas
-GIAC Stage 1, 6MT, Strat intake, AWE DPs/catback, 034 test pipes, Full CPS, CM Stage 4 clutch, 93 gas
-Revo Stage 1, DSG, Strat intake, AWE catback, 93 gas

Boost between 3 cars

I did 3rd and 4th gear for the 3 cars
APR hit 18.2 lbs in 4th!! lol

Timing

Revo timing is insane. That’s for pump gas.
GIAC seems to be in the middle
Makes sense to bump down timing for the boost levels I am seeing.

Intake Air Temps

Crazy that Revo with no CPS has pretty much similar IATs to full CPS GIAC car
I definitely need a full CPS. Those IATs are getting high.

Bypass valve

Revo and APR cars seem to be dumping a little boost up top.
GIAC car is dumping a ton of boost. Bypass valve issue? Thought it was fixed.

Nm torque in different gears between the two 6MT cars

You can see where the pulley shines

Seems like 4th gear the top end isn’t as clear cut, might be my lack of CPS (APR car) and incr IATs.

MAF

Averaged the 5-6 runs between the 2 manual cars
Didn’t get MAF on revo for some reason.

APR Stage 2 V2.2 MAF 1497.28 Kg/hr or 415.91 g/s (peak tonight was 1518 Kg/hr)
GIAC Stage 1 MAF 1442.49 Kg/hr or 400.69 g/s

RPMs/sec

3rd gear ~3k-7k rpms
APR Stage 2 628.61 Rpms/sec
GIAC stage 1 603.07 Rpms/sec

4th gear ~3k-7k
APR Stage 2 317.47 Rpms/sec
GIAC Stage 1 306.61 Rpms/sec

3rd gear ~5k-7k rpms
APR Stage 2 582.8 Rpms/sec
GIAC Stage 1 561.74 Rpms/sec

4th gear ~5k-7k rpms
APR Stage 2 279.54 Rpms/sec
GIAC Stage 1 273.9 Rpms/sec

Phew… ;D

Need GIAC Stage 2 car ASAP. Hurry up AWE/GIAC!!!

Need moar boost nao.

LOL… they need to fix the bypass issue :stuck_out_tongue:

Thanks for posting. Fun to read.

seems like the revo car by increasing timing and keeping boost down, is not suffering from increased IAT’s but yet it does not have a smaller pulley so its apples to oranges. it would be interesting to see a stage 2 revo car if that were to ever exist.

how about you get all three cars to line up and race and put it on video. Tsivas, i love what you are doing with the logs but it is not really telling us the whole story.

^^^would love to see that too. From a dig. Or From a 10mph roll if they’re worried about the clutches.

That’s why we have the pbox thread going too. I can try and do a comparison of all three cars from lower speeds if u want. But it’s hard to line up three cars where we are and get a good video out of it. Also - one is DSG which as we see on the pbox graphs loses no speed between shifts. Pete is a faster shifter than me and I have no desire to shift that fast or violent.

I’d suspect the revo dsg car to be pretty close to if not slightly faster than the apr stage 2 car. Revo seems to be better up top with that crazy timing. Pete has run against his pops and it was pretty close - he said the revo car started pulling hard after 110-115. I can have Pete try out my car and see what the fastest time it can get/video it vs revo. We aren’t gonna have anyone shift as fast as him/ at least the people that have come to pbox here.

Funny thing is the Revo car could add a pulley and not need a tune to take advantage of the additional boost, since it seems they set the requested boost to somewhat unattainable levels… timing would be a concern of course with the additional boost/heat…

I like the race idea! Atco opens Feb. 23rd so hopefully that group can make it out there and get some passes…

again the pbox isnt telling me much man, sorry but the only way i can really tell is lining them up. forget the revo car then, save him for when another dsg car comes along, maybe me. how about a pete vs richi race once he figures out his cps issue? both very similarly equipped cars, both fast shifters, both cars are black to boot. i know richi is down

lining up on a highway isnt bad. i have a stretch of road by me if anyone wants to make the trip

Are u near us? And are u Ellinas?

Someone might have done that already in the past on these forums.

i know your stretch of road… its a good stretch haha

and im down to do pulls once i sort the car out

Pretty sure he removed the pulley prior to the switch but I could be wrong…

Don’t believe the troll, lol. I had the stock pulley on.

Your IA temps aren’t too bad Tsivas, but yeah definitely you can almost plot the inefficiency of over spinning the blower. Karma shower for all the graphs you made Tsivas

im in new jersey, shop is in East Rutherford by the stadium

malista, eimai ellinas. and yes my parents owns a diner
