Maybe that’s his 9-hole handicap.
They do that to not embarrass the players. It goes both ways. Some of them don’t care, and others do.
They’re reporting Kid Rock to be a 14 handicap.
Wayne and Kid were just interviewed and Wayne reported that Kid hasn’t ever made a birdie.
A 14 capper has made a birdie.
Then they showed Kid Rock hitting his tee shot on a 129 yard par 3…with what was either a 3 wood or a 5 wood. He proceeded to hit it high to the left way way WAY out of bounds.
I don’t believe “14 capper” to be particularly accurate.
Maybe that’s his 9-hole handicap.

What does Tiger pay his caddy this week?
not much lol. i’ve read that he’s generally pretty cheap.

Actually his caddie earns a flat rate per year that can be pretty impressive. Whether tiger nakes 10 million or 10 thousand the caddie gets paid.
That amount was about $500,000 ten years ago. I imagine its significantly more now.
For perspective if your player made $8 million via :
4 wins, 6 more top 10s and the rest just regular cuts made you would be due about $575,000 with today’s standard caddie pay structure.
Considering Tiger probably pays lacava about $800,000 or $1,000,000 no matter what he does, that’s pretty generous.
Considering you also only work about 18 weeks a year, fly private, and get another $100,000 to 250,000 from Nike etc for what you wear, there’s no better bag on earth. Except maybe Phil’s bag. As he is reported to be INSANE generous. ie typically tips $100, even if it’s a $7 breakfast tab at Denny’s. I bet he pays Bones more than most tour players earn on the course.
^^ I’ve heard the same thing about Phil. Doesn’t he give out a few hundred $$ and a signed glove if he hits a gallery member?

Yeah there was the time his drive hit a guy’s watch and broke it, so Phil gave the guy all the money in his wallet which was about 200 bucks. Hope it was a casio
Lol
It got even better.
The ball just hit the strap and ‘broke’ it. Wasn’t broken at all, the pin just popped out. He popped the pin back in, and it was fine 5 minutes later.
interesting fact: 2 years in a row, the reigning world #1 golfer has blown up midround and walked off PGA National - Champions.
Rory did it last year, feigning a tooth problem which he later admitted was BS and he just wanted out.
Tiger did it yesterday citing a back injury.
In Tiger’s defence, having played PGA National, he withdrew at the worst possible spot of the course. The 13th green is as far away as any spot on the property from his car. Ideally when you fake an injury to withdraw, you do so within sight of your car so it’s an easy and quick bailout. Not when you’re 2000 yards away. He was probably legitimitely hurt.
Tough venue though. When the wind is up there it’s a nightmare. When it’s down, it’s a cakewalk. 8 under is major championship type scoring.
How they play it off 70 is beyond me. I played it off 72 and thought it was tough. The ball goes nowhere, rolls nowhere, rough is thick as shit, and it’s tight as hell out there with water and villas everywhere. Yet they’re playing 520 yard par 4s and smiling.
A different game.
