you walking? Good stuff.

I played Friday night, Saturday morning and played 36 yesterday. All walking. My left knee is shot. Need surgery (again) to repair a torn meniscus.

My Saturday and Sunday morning rounds were both insane. I completely sucked on the par 5s, which is where I usually score well.

Saturday on the 4 par 5s I went bogey, double bogey, bogey, bogey. 5 over on the par 5s…1 over everywhere else for 77.
Sunday morning I went bogey, bogey, double, birdie. 3 over on the par 5s…and another 5 over everywhere else for 79. Weird round all around. It was 4 of us playing a match, and I had 4 birdies including a 3 in a row stretch to even up the match late on the back nine. But I just sucked otherwise. Drove it shit, missed loads of greens, and only got it up and down like 2x.

In the afternoon I hit it a lot better and was 5 over at another course. No birdies, just 5 bogeys for 76.

It’s a weird year for me. 76 is the lowest score I’ve shot in 2014 which is pretty bad as a ‘low’ for me historically. I’m just a little crossed up with my lines and may go see a friend who is a teaching pro to get some ideas.

In other news, I bought some new irons (TM RocketbladezTour), and won a new driver at a golf tournament (R1 TP). So for the first time in a long time I have some modernish stuff in my bag other than my wedges which I wear out every 12-18 months.

Thanks for bumping the thread. Forgot to post that I got to go up for the Friday round at Valhalla. It was a blast, and damn that course is huge!

Also forgot to mention. Played in the wounded warrior tournament last Monday. One of the guys in our group almost died, literally.

It was raining and we got up to the next teebox where 2 groups had quit playin and it stacked up. So we decided to wait the rain out as well while parked at the tee box on the cart path. Well the wind wasn’t really blowing at all, but then we heard some loud cracks and we all started to run. One of the guys in our group was late to leave the cart and where is umbrella is in the picture, is where he initially got hit.

He is extremely lucky as less than a foot was the main branch that would have resulted in a much worse injury. It was the whole top half of the tree (probably 30ft up and 35-40ft of the tree that came down).

sneaking photos? nice one.

I got some good video of Kyle Stanley and Dustbuster Johnson on Sunday at Glen Abbey last year in the CDN OPEN.

Haha yea, they were impressively good at catching people with their phones out. 1st time was a warning, second time you were out. We followed bubba and rory for 12 holes, and the crowds were there but nothing crazy, then went to follow tiger and phil, and holy shit! There were close to 10x the amount of people watching them than rory who was leading the tournament.

Tiger galleries are just incredible. I remember following him in 2000 CDN Open. He had won the US, British, PGA…and was the biggest thing on earth at the time. It was surreal.

Played 81 holes in 3 days last week. Body was aching by day 3. Definitely need to invest in some new clubs now that I’ve been going a lot more.

Damn. He got very lucky. Had a drunk friend roll a golf cart on a really steep, curving path a while back. Somehow made it out unscathed.

Saki, I carted it. No way I’m walking that many. Plus, I’m not very good so I need a cart to cool off in at times.

Not sure if this is terribly surprising, but still noteworthy. Any bets on whether Tiger goes back to Butch?

[quote]For the first time in his career, Tiger Woods will be splitting ways with a swing coach before they ever won a single major championship.

Woods announced on Monday that he and swing coach Sean Foley, who he began working with four years, are going in a different direction, taking to his website to break the news that Woods will once again be looking for a new swing coach

Whole story here: http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/golf-devil-ball-golf/tiger-woods-splits-with-swing-coach-sean-foley-142446461.html

Yeah, that’s a weird one.

When healthy, with Foley, he was fantastic. Unfortunately for 2.5 out of 4 years he was unhealthy. Hard to judge Foley on that record.

Hopefully Foley saved a pile of money, because that Tiger connection basically made his career and should have been enough for him to retire comfortably on. With that being said, he still took Justin Rose, and elevated him to be one of the top 3-4 players on earth, and Hunter Mahan, another Foley client, is back on track.

in other news, I choked a nice round out yesterday lol. Was playing really well…then finished bogey, par, bogey, double bogey.

^^ Lol at the disparity in those scores. Hopefully you weren’t in the same cart!

73 is still damn good. I’d kill to shoot something like that.

we were walking

The first time I shot in the 60s I shot 69 at Glen Abbey. I played with two staff members at the course, and they were both beginners. One of them shot 63 on the back nine. It was pretty funny in hindsight.

Franky I don’t care how good or bad the other people are, as long as they show proper ettiquette, and keep up.
