^^ Very true about etiquette. Playing with people who don’t understand the rules and proper behavior on the course is intolerable. Happened to me when I went solo at the Links at Spanish Bay. From talking during my swings to walking on my putting line, it was a disaster. And a waste of $300.
Not sure if this is terribly surprising, but still noteworthy. Any bets on whether Tiger goes back to Butch?
[quote]For the first time in his career, Tiger Woods will be splitting ways with a swing coach before they ever won a single major championship.
Woods announced on Monday that he and swing coach Sean Foley, who he began working with four years, are going in a different direction, taking to his website to break the news that Woods will once again be looking for a new swing coach

I have a hard time shooting really well when playing with guys clearly not as good. (Like 10+ shot diff) I feel that more often than not you play to the level of your competition. And if you’re playing with guys that shoot 45 on 9 holes, it’s tough (and can be awkward) to post up a 34. But when I’m playing with other scratch golfers, it’s game on!
Not to say it can’t be done. I just personally find it much more difficult to do.
That said, quite impressive saki (and congrats) on a round in the 60’s with a guy that shot 60’s on 9 holes haha. I don’t know that I could do that.
I think the reason it’s a non-issue for me is because I’m self taught, and as I got better I played with my buddies who just played casually and never practiced. All of my friends were kind of 90s shooters so I had no choice.
My one friend’s younger brother was good though, and he and I played/practiced together for a few years, and we both got really good. So I can see what you’re referring to for sure as far as elevating your game. But on a game by game basis, it doesn’t change my score at all if I’m playing with a +2, a 12 or a 32. It’s really up to me.
Yeah, that’s a weird one.
When healthy, with Foley, he was fantastic. Unfortunately for 2.5 out of 4 years he was unhealthy. Hard to judge Foley on that record.
Hopefully Foley saved a pile of money, because that Tiger connection basically made his career and should have been enough for him to retire comfortably on. With that being said, he still took Justin Rose, and elevated him to be one of the top 3-4 players on earth, and Hunter Mahan, another Foley client, is back on track.
in other news, I choked a nice round out yesterday lol. Was playing really well…then finished bogey, par, bogey, double bogey.

^^ Lol at the disparity in those scores. Hopefully you weren’t in the same cart!
73 is still damn good. I’d kill to shoot something like that.
we were walking
The first time I shot in the 60s I shot 69 at Glen Abbey. I played with two staff members at the course, and they were both beginners. One of them shot 63 on the back nine. It was pretty funny in hindsight.
Franky I don’t care how good or bad the other people are, as long as they show proper ettiquette, and keep up.

If I were forced to choose only one sporting event to follow, it would be the Ryder Cup. Warming up nicely.
I missed all of it today, unfortunately. The weekend matches should be great.
USA!!
…is getting raped.
Again.
I’m supporting Europe but shame Mickleson/Bradley didn’t spark a fire like last time.

Wow lots of drama from the the US loss. Pretty awkward press conference with Phil basically trashing Watson’s management and leadership. Doesn’t reflect well on Team USA.
That said, I’m skeptical how influential captains really are in the Ryder Cup. It’s still basically an individual game. What do you guys think?
