V1, eh? It’s five bucks. I’ll buy it.
it’s free really. the 5 bucks is only if you want unlimited pro swing downloads to compare to

Yea, it’s come a long way (V1 app). We were using it back when you would film with a video camera and bring it in, upload to the computer, and analyze inside lol. Amazing how far it’s all come.
But yea that’s why I say it with a slight asterisk. Knowledge is powerful, but it can be interpreted the wrong way too. So you need to understand your swing and swing dynamics. I feel it is MUCH more important to try to reach certain points than it is to try and mimic or follow a specific swingpath etc.

Tigermania Thursday who’s tuning in?
I will watch some. Field is so-so.
I just want to watch Tiger on the range. See if his swing has changed.
Would have loved to see him make the posture changes that Foley was trying to get him to make. Lots of people think Foley’s swing had Tiger hunched over like he was the last few years, but that was all Tiger. Foley wanted him more upright and taller.
Ya I’ll watch over the weekend. I just hope he’s come up with a swing that is easier on his back. It sucks watching him get injured time and again on the course.
He posted a few videos today:

Stricker 5 under. Nice. Always been a fan. If he could only somehow pull a rabbit out of a hat and win a major.
on a par 4 hole he missed the green and fatted a chip to an elevated green that rolled back down to his feet
on a par 5 hole he hit his second on the green, landing it around 12 feet from the pin but it came back and rolled off the elevated green. He was greenside in 2, but fatted his third shot…and then repeated it, rolling back to his feet both times.
on a drivable par 4 hole he drove it greenside, then fatted the chip which came back to his feet. He then thinned the next one to 15 feet past the pin
on another hole he fatted a bunker shot and left it in the bunker
I have literally NEVER seen a good player (let a lone a TOUR player, much less the greatest of all time) have a shit short game day like Tiger did
I honestly think he hasn’t played golf in months and isn’t really practicing anything. I mean nothing. No rounds. He has been working on his swing on the range for a week or two, and otherwise hasn’t touched his shit. Book it.

I just love how Jimmy Walker owns the opening months of the season. He nearly won in a playoff two weeks ago, and then he routed the field at the Sony last week (for the second year in a row). I wish he’d perform a little better during the rest of the season.
Have you guys seen his astrophotography pictures? Pretty neat stuff. http://jwalk.smugmug.com/
I believe he’s even been recognized by NASA. My personal favorite is the one he took of the Horsehead Nebula.

Went back to Florida a couple of weeks ago for a winter tune up. Played 4 rounds in 4 days in Orlando. Lots of fun.
Stayed at the Omni Orlando Champions Gate. Nice hotel, great pool areas, and 2 courses on site. We played them both…the National and the International. I would skip the National next time, and just play the International if doing it over again. Much more interesting course with loads of wildlife.
Saw gators, all kinds of neat birds including Sandhill cranes and all sorts of herons/egrets. Also great birds of prey, including Red Shouldered Hawks (they’re I think endangered or ‘of concern’ down there in Florida) and on one hole, we had a surprise visitor fly up and land at the edge of a pond right where we were teeing off…
Also got back to Bay Hill. After the round we talked to Mr Palmer for a bit. He had a bad wing (right shoulder) and pretty big bruises on his face. Must have had a fall or something. Hope he gets better soon. Super nice.
It was a neat day at Bay hill. Because it was early January no tour events were on, so the Bay Hill members who play the tour were pretty much all hanging around practicing/playing. In the space of half an hour after our round we saw Suzann Petterson (world#2) on the range (she was a couple of groups behind us when we played too). She just frigging striped it the whole time. Then Rocco Mediate was there practicing and working out, and he had lunch with Palmer. It’s funny, we were about 3 tables away from them when we had lunch and for like 5 minutes none of us said anything…we were just staring at Arnie the whole time. My buddy is a member there and has met him a bunch and still gets mesmorized lol. Ryo Ishikawa is another member there.
Played like shit on the front, a little better on the back. I hit a good drive on 18, and still had 184 in from the left rough. Hole is a beast because then you have to hit something superhero ish at the pin…and hope to cover the rocks/pond…or you have to play left of it, and have a very tough putt (or a tough as balls bunker shot if you pull it). I hit 7 iron from here 20 feet left of the pin and 2 putted fortunately. Played the last few holes well. Par-Par-Par-Bogey-Par-Bogey-Par. Missed 3 birdie putts under 10 feet annoyingly. Otherwise, still rusty. Shot 81-80-82-80 my four rounds. Close ,but just winter weak.
here’s 18 at Bay Hill. That’s actually not the clubhouse that you finish at. It’s just someone’s house. Funny. Nobody knows that watching on TV. Clubhouse is across the street.

Sounds like quite the trip! I remember seeing Palmer at Augusta eating lunch with his grandson a few years back. The reaction in my group was the same - we just kind of stared for a few minutes lol.
Pretty awesome that some of the Tour players were out there. I didn’t realize that so many of them practice at Bay Hill.
Oh yeah, what did you talk to Palmer and Rocco about? Just shooting the shit?
184 yard 7 iron?? Solid.
just shooting the shit
7 from 184 is a bit longer than normal, but it was out of the rough. Probably flew about 178. Had a nice lie…

Palmer, we just said hi and that the course is playing great. Usual stuff you say to someone like that lol. It’s overseeded (the bermuda rough in central florida goes dormant / yellow in winter, so they overseed with Rye which stays green) and in amazing shape. Greens were VEEEERRRRRRY slow though. When I was there in March, we played 4 days in a row, starting the Thursday after the TOUR event, so the greens were amazingly fast still. In the fall and winter they run the greens quite a bit slower. Probably 8.0 on the stimp. 10.5-11 for the tournament.
