Good for you, Maddog. Hard not to have a great time at Augusta. No other place like it. Hopefully I win the lottery for tickets next year.
Now who’s willing to bet that Spieth doesn’t hang on to the lead? My hunch is that he doesn’t win.

Spieth has looked incredibly solid for months now. I wouldn’t bet against him…
How about that shot from behind/below the tree from 175 that HIT THE PIN?!? Unbelievable.
this is like predicting the super bowl winner when it’s 10-7 after the first quarter. Who the hell knows.
I do know that Spieth hit it like shit for most of the round, and got away with murder. But he also hit some awesome shots. That’s a 69 that turns into a 64 when you make some shit happen. Doing that for any extended length of time is tough.
On 11 he lost it miles right, and was lucky it kicked out to the edge of the ‘rough’. He then hit it 220 to about 20 feet. That could easily have been a 7 because he hit a cut out over the pond and moved it back to 20 feet right, hole high. Made par. A bit brave.
On 12 he pushed it BADLY. You could hear him yelling at it to go. It went, and he was in good shape, just over the bunker. He then jammed the putt and was walking early as he thought he’d blown it by, but the whole caught it. That’s why he and his caddie laughed their heads off.
On 13 he blocked it horribly into the trees, but got super lucky when it kicked out AGAIN. Great wedge meant birdie.
On 14, again he blocked it terribly. The recovery shot was insane. It was lucky to hit the pin, but maybe unlucky to not go in.
15 could have been an 8.
All in all, he was really scrappy. That doesn’t last long, that luck. I picked him to win to give you some perspective on what I think about him overall, but it will be tough to keep that golf up.
Frankly he should have won it last year. His caddie disappeared on him around 8-9-10 and he dropped 3 shots while Bubba went 2 under, and that was the tournament.
Man, Spieth is rocking it today!
Tiger . . . not so much.
Course looks great though. I was down there on Tuesday and had a great time. Also played The Farm in North Georgia on Wed while headed back. It was a fun course but not my favorite.
That’s the funny thing about golf scorecards, though: no photos or video, just numbers.
Spieth’s P1 and 2 P2s in his last 3 starts says it all about the way he’s been playing…
The Masters is my favorite sporting event to watch, and as has been said, despite how beautiful it looks on TV, it’s even more amazing in person. Looking forward to the weekend…
Dunno how it looks today, but the numbers are singing the same song as yesterday. It was just posted that he birdied 13 and is 13 under for the tournament.
So at this point if he can play boring golf and birdie the par 5s the rest of the way in, he’ll have a green jacket and the all time record aggregate to par by several strokes.
But it’s only Friday afternoon. And I’m still rooting for Jimenez.

Incredible performance by Spieth. He’s not letting up!! Only downside is that it portends a boring weekend.
I like him a lot, and he’s 21 so it will not be boring no matter what
He will either implode aggressively at some point, or he will go on and make some history.
Charlie Hoffman is 5 under, AGAIN. Pretty hilarious.

nobody discounted the value of scoring or good fortune. However if you’ve ever played golf at a high level, you realise that keeping your luck up for a whole round is tough…nevermind 4 days from 7400 yards.
I said to clochner that he’s not going to win if he doesn’t get his game under control. He’s 6 today, so it will be interesting to see the highlights. I don’t imagine he’ll be scrambling his face off with 40% fairways though.

wow, the “anyone within ten shots of the lead” rule is meaningless this year. 4 under, where pretty much the rest of the top of the leaderboard is!
4 under is 3rd. And 10 shots back lol. Nuts.
Hoffman is about to go to 11

Lessee, 6 under today, 6 birdies, no bogeys, breaks the Masters’ all-time 36-hole scoring record.
Seems that he has his game under control so far.
(“past results are no guarantee of future performance” notwithstanding)
So in '97 Tiger was 70-66-65-69. 8 under through Thursday and Friday. Oh, the possibilities…

interesting fact: nobody has ever had 4 rounds in the 60s in this tournament.
Tiger was pretty close…he was 40-30 in that first round.
