As expected, Feherty signs with NBC/Golf Channel. NBC’s coverage is now light years ahead of CBS. Will be great to have Johnny Miller and Feherty call The British Open when NBC gets it in 2017.
The thought was that Feherty would take over for Johnny Miller after he retires in 2017 when he was rumoured to leave.
However some insiders were saying that David Duval was being groomed to get that job. I vote for Duval. He’s great. Smart, accomplished, major champion, former world # 1, well spoken, patient. Offset him with Feherty to be light, funny etc.
The thing about Feherty though is that he is entertaining, but only in small doses. He is like chocolate. Sure eating chocolate is great. But that’s when you have a chocolate bar once in a while. When you eat a whole plate of chocolate for dinner, it’s a bit sickening.

^^ I’m shocked that you wouldn’t have voted for Chamblee . . .
But ya, Duval all the way. It took him a little while to get comfortable in the analyst chair, but he seems to have found his rhythm. I really like his commentary on The Golf Channel.
Feherty is better suited for on-the-course announcing.
