That’s one way to rehab. I think he should change his swing then go to the senior tour to stay out of trouble. He can still pop on the masters and the other majors if he is able :

Yeah, making 7 on a par 3 will really eff up your score.

Ridiculous, offensive and sad all at the same time.
He should take his money and go home and stay there, sad to say.

more information has come out
he was pulled over to the side of the road
he was asleep at the wheel
he was disoriented, and thought he was coming home from a golf tournament in california
he failed all field sobriety tests
he blew 0.00 blood alcohol
he urine tested 0.00 blood alcohol
Looks like one of the following scenarios
- he had some bad reactions to some prescription meds and pulled over when they hit him (this is what he said he did)
- he was smoking weed or doing other recreational drugs
- he’s using prescription drugs carelessly or recreationally…easy to become addicted to opioids when you’re on them for 4 straight years to alleviate injury/surgery pain
I’m hoping it’s 1, and the signs kind of point to that but there are a few other questions too.
^^ i think there was also some damage to his car. I’m skeptical that it was all innocent - not unless he was only recently prescribed one or more of the meds and wasn’t aware of their interaction.

yeah, he blew out the two left side tires, and messed up the front bumper. Probably blasted a curve. How he didn’t drive into a forest or a lake when he was this fucked up I’ll never understand…
He recently said (last week) ‘I’m feeling great, pain free, instant relief’
now he’s saying ‘I’m on multiple pain meds that’s what happened’
Could be 3.

This points back to the “sad” part of the equation, as he continues to either lie or refuse to acknowledge reality, just as he did before his life and career were blown to smithereens when the truth about his life was exposed.
Not a pretty picture, and it’s why I think his competitive playing days may well be over.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Tiger’s been addicted to pain meds for years. In fact, I’m willing to bet he was taking them even during his winning days - there’s no way he won at Torrey in 2008 without something for the pain. The scary part is that he chose to drive on them. As sak noted, he’s lucky to be alive.

It’s a rough situation to watch Tiger go through and sad. But if big John Daly is still alive and playing good golf after all those wild years then i still have hope for Tiger playing in the future.

The web.com Tour’s “Rust-Oleum Championship” starts today at my home course.
http://www.pgatour.com/webcom/tournaments/rust-oleum-championship.html
Field this year includes several former PGA Tour winners, including Jonathan Byrd, DJ Trahan, Peter Lonard and Robert Allenby (yeah, I know), plus a bunch of guys who are playing in the US Open next week. Course is firm and fast, rough is up, greens are lightning, so it will be fun (again) to see how the field handles it.
TV coverage all 4 days on Golf Channel.
Congrats again on that. Have a lot of fun this week and hope the weather works out well for you. It’s really amazing to see how much a difference weather makes for how aggressive these guys can be (i.e. one rain storm in the middle of the tournament can soften up bent greens and let them pin-seek for the next couple of days).
What’s the expected attendance for the week looking to be? Are you volunteering again to be a walking scorer or anything else?
Our event got moved to the last week of June (June 26-July 2nd). It’ll be here before we can blink! But the course is in good shape and fairways much healthier as we did not overseed last winter to help the bermuda come in sooner.
