Thanks - will do.

Thanks, it’s fun to have the web.com Tour around.

Today’s conditions could not have been better for scoring - temps in high 70s, hazy sunshine, hardly a breath of wind. We had 1 65, 3 66s, 6 67s. Forecast calls for 80s into low 90s over the next 3 days, plus breezy Saturday and Sunday, which is likely to have some impact on the leaders.

I’m a walking scorer Saturday AM only. Watched about an hour out on the course today - why not - the 16th tee is only 100 yards away!

No idea about expected attendance, but should be better than last year, based on what I saw today.

Hope your event goes well. Are you volunteering at all?

Good old JD- right on

Zcd have fun and stay cool out there.

Tournament went really well - lots of great (and some not-so-great) golf played, better attendance than last year, nice weather, though quite windy Sat and Sun.

Winner Stephan Jaeger posted his 2nd victory of the season, so one more win this year earns him an automatic “Battlefield Promotion” to the PGA Tour. He’s an impressive player - remember his name.

(EDIT) Forgot to mention that Jaeger has already won enough money to secure his PGA Tour card for next year, regardless of whether he wins again this year or not.

Winning score was 14 under, 1 better than last year, though the field scoring average was almost 75 Saturday and Sunday, with the wind having the expected impact.

Can’t wait until next year!

Good to hear the weather worked well for you, that’s the one factor always out of your control. Sounds like the event went well again. Each year seems to go a bit smoother from what I’ve heard at other courses. We flew up to the Victoria National for their Web.com event a month or so ago it was all top notch. The course was in phenomenal shape, and there isn’t a much more punishing tract if you miss the fairways. We played during advance week and it ate my lunch. Apparently 3 of the toughest 18 holes played on the web.com are on their facility with the #1 difficulty web.com hole also being there (I had a 15’ birdie putt playing the back tees and made par!)

Glad to hear you got to volunteer again with the event, I think that is an amazing experience and anyone who loves golf should take the time to volunteer with an event at least once. Especially at the web.com level, you get a great level of intimacy with the players and most of them are very down to earth & approachable. Our volunteers all had a blast last year and many blocked their calendar off this year to be more involved, some even using vacation days just to be out here more.

We just wrapped up our Member-Guest, so it was a mini-warmup for the Web.com. Only a couple weeks away now. Onto the detail stuff now, grandstands just showed as well as skyboxes for the 18th hole. And yes. . .I am quite involved with our event so I’ll be here each and every day.

This for Saki and all you other golfers

Most expensive rehab ever lol

Exactly, and I couldn’t agree more. All of the volunteers I spoke with really enjoyed the experience and plan to volunteer again whenever the opportunity arises.

Saw this morning that Phil is likely not playing in the US Open because of his daughter’s high school graduation. He’ll basically be missing his Thursday tee time by number of hours if everything stays as is. Who thinks some high school’s 2017 graduation is not as big as further closing the window on this for one of golf’s all time great names:

I for one think the school should be making a concession and moving up the graduation ceremony. Thoughts?

I dunno, I thought it was pretty strong statement of Phil to say family comes first, even if it’s “only” a high-school graduation. I’d also say that I doubt he even approached the school about moving the time/date and it would come off a bit odd/pompous (imo, even though somewhat legit). I think it really is a great thing showing how much his family and daughter mean to him. There will be a U.S. Open next year and I’m sure Phil will be in it.

Clearly he’s reached a point of success in his career that a paycheck to live on is not his driving factor to play anymore. And that gives him the luxury of more easily prioritizing family over golf.

he didn’t approach the school

when Jack Nicklaus heard this story he said that his kids’ high school used to adjust dates of things to accomodate Jack’s major championship schedule

When a reporter suggested that to Phil, Phil’s comment was 'really? I don’t think I have that in me" basically saying I’m not going to be a big asshole and ask the school. Also saying that Jack is a big asshole lol.
